"전하지 못한 진심, the 3rd track on Love Yourself: 轉 Tear, translates to “sincerity that couldn’t be delivered.” It references the smeraldo flower. The smeraldo is a fictitious flower that BTS has been associated with on more than one occasion. Similar to how different flowers can mean different things, the smeraldo means “the truth I couldn’t tell” according to the only flower shop that claims to sell it.
There are similarities between the lyrics of the song and “La Città di Smeraldo”, an italian tale about a man who hides in his house because he’s afraid of showing himself. As he watches from the window, he falls in love with a woman stealing flowers from his garden to sell them. Trying to help her, he grows a special flower (smeraldo) so that she can earn more money from it, but the woman dies, not being able to see it. They never met each other."

This is the story of the song This song is based on "la citti di smeraldo" and it's a story about a rich man who was chased away from home and hated by everyone. He hid himself in a old castle, lonely and thinking himself to be very ugly. It was because of the hatred and beratement that he received from birth and when growing up that he didn’t open his heart to anyone, he got angry and hid if someone tried to approach him. His only joy was growing flowers in his garden. One day, a girl appeared near the man’s castle. She jumped over the garden fence and stole the flowers. The man was very mad at first but eventually got curious about her and watched her. Without realizing it he fell in love with her, and one day decided to follow her. He covered himself with a cloak and then discovered, the poor and weak girl was selling his flowers for a living. He wanted to help her, he wanted to teach her every method of growing flowers he knew, he wanted to teach her how to grow beautiful flowers. But he couldn’t come forward to the girl. She would be scared of him, she wouldn’t love his grotesque appearance. ( I must hide because I'm ugly) So he decided to make a flower out of this world for her to sell it at an expensive price. Eventually, after many tries he made a beautiful blue flower that never existed in the world, and filled his garden with them. But the girl was nowhere to be seen. No matter how much he waited, she wouldn’t come to his garden. The man grew concerned and went to the village with his face covered only to learn that she had died. The part where they sing but I still want you is the man, crying, because he never told her he loves her, all because he didn't love himself first.

It's amazing how sometimes songs fit perfectly into what you're working on! Working on a story about a girl who finds a magical stone along the seashore only to drop in a cave then her son in law finds it years later to give to her daughter. Little did she know this stone was a gift from a mermaid trying to give her purpose & a smile for he would watch her walk the beach looking so sad he fell in love with her beauty but was too afraid to meet her until he tries to retrieve the magical stone from the one who started using it ( as it was made with his magic so he can feel it being used) finding that it belongs to the daughter of the girl he longed for all those years ago it brings them back together but he had to pretend to be human so is torn to let her see who he really is fearing she may not trust him or be afraid of him)

This song always reminds me of my beloved ex. He broke up with me and played with my feelings for TWICE ! I trusted him with all my heart and I thought he changed but he didn't. He used me although he loves another girl and he broke up with me twice for a girl. I don't know what did i do to deserve this.
