Since MidgetheBrit comment will one of the top comments, I will post this here. Korean Miyukats there pointed out there is a key difference in this cover is that Miyu did this in "One Take". This is the first time Miyu is challenging "One Take" for her YT covers. Furthermore, she has to memorise and sing full 4.5 mins of Korean lyrics for her cover without any cuts/edits. She is trying to prove to viewers and fans that she has been practicing hard on her Korean + pronunciation, showing her vocals and expressing her raw emotions when singing this song with her facial expressions by filming it with a 4K camera without any flashy editing and pause in between. This is the closest to a "live" version we international viewers could hear. This might be the reason why Miyu postponed her cover yesterday, She must have felt all her "One Take" yesterday failed to meet the high standards of what i described above to her fans, to BTS fans, to fans in her previous TTU team Miho/Saho/Gyuri, and to any new fans who are watching her cover. And also lastly to prove to any naysayers which previously said she performed badly live during her actual performance in her TTU team (which I was aware there were a lot of false bad rumours spreading that she did badly during that period - possibly by Miyu antis) which Miyu ended up getting 4th in her team, that they are totally wrong... I hope anyone reading this can take note of these important points when re-watching this wonderful cover by Miyu. Do give her a like and share it if she has given justice to this wonderful song by BTS and to her fellow teammates in TTU, Miho/Saho/Gyuri!

It's interesting how Miyu shot this in one take (in 4K quality no less), knowing full well that there would be 'imperfections'. As someone who started to learn Korean and get trained in singing until only just recently, she is still bound to sound awkward in places. She could have done it in multiple takes to correct those parts, but she didn't. Her ultimate goal was to immerse herself into the emotions and the meaning behind the song. That's how she chose to interpret the song, whether you like it or not. In case you didn't know, one of Miyu's dreams is to become an actress. In this cover video she is playing the role of a person who is riddled with all kinds of imperfections (ugliness, lack of courage, etc). She is expressing the suffering of that person through her voice and face. It's also in the way she portrays the mood through the colour use, the way she dressed, or her hair. It's all simple and muted. There are many female soloists in Japan, but only a few have enjoyed huge popularity in recent years, like Utada Hikaru, Kana Nishino, and... idk who else. Well, there's also Namie Amuro, but she retired just recently. No young female soloists have broken through as the next big thing for quite a while now. For anyone who wants female jpop soloist recs: Miyu's favorite female solo artists are Utada Hikaru and YUI. She also listens a lot to Shiina Ringo (& her band Tokyo Jihen). If you like Miyu's covers of Marunouchi Sadistic and Any Girl, then you'll like Shiina Ringo. I also recommend Maaya Sakamoto if you like Miyu's voice color. Hers is quite similar. Other female soloists I can think of: Aimer, Ayaka, Kou Shibasaki, RIRI, DAOKO, iri, Sakura Fujiwara, Leo Ieiri, Cocco, Chihiro Onitsuka, Superfly, Chanmina, RUANN, Seiko Oomori... Some have been around for long and are quite well-known, while some are relatively new. Just search these names, it kind of depends on your taste whether you'll like them.

Who's here after news she's debuting in Korea?? Honestly speaking, she still lack some techniques in singing but her timbre and singing style is very unique and charming on its own. I hope she improves her technique when she trains because she has SO MUCH potential, so much she can show than what she has now. I can hear it! Nana Yoon I agree, she definitely has still needs some technical improvements in singing but her vocal tone is certainly very unique and not only people who belt out high note after high notes are good singers...her vocal tone is one of the prettiest I’ve heard lately and she conveys emotions really well, I think she will do well!

이제와서 이렇게 영상들을 찾아보며 드는 생각은 프로듀스라는 방송이 할때는 관심도 하나 없었다가 다 끝나고 나서.. 무언가 새로운 도전을 하려는데 자극을 찾기 위해, 나보다 어린 사람들이 데뷔라는 꿈을 목표로 도전하는 프로듀스48를 보며 동력을 찾기위해 보기 시작했다.. 그러다 어느 순간 그 열정과 도전들에 빠져버렸다. 그 중에서 미유는 튀지 않는 성격과 진지함으로 방송에서 크게 눈에 띄지 않는 연습생이였으나, 전하지 못한 진심과 다른 여러 무대에서 노래를 부를때 그 진지함과 감정에 사람들을 홀리는 매력이 있었다. 내가 이렇게 미유의 동영상에 찾아와서 보는 이유기도 하고 그러니 앞으로 아티스트로서 도전하는 미유가 본인이 목표로 하는 곳까지, 그 이후 또 다른 목표까지 상처 받지 않고 열심히 그리고 즐겁게 나아갔으면 좋겠다.

This melancholy sound that is probably a reflection of how Miyu feels touched my soul deeply. This is a beautiful song that I feel only Miyu can sing. The beautifully haunting sound of her voice leaves me wanting to hold her. I wish the line, “I still want you,” referred to me but maybe it refers to her dream of being a performer and an idol. Regardless, I loved this. Well worth the wait.

Aegyo Goddess I don’t know about her biggest fan but I believe she doesn’t get the recognition she deserves. She’s not just beautiful but she’s super talented too. She plays three instruments, sings, writes her own songs, composes her music, makes her own arraignments, loves photography, and in a land of Shinto and Buddhist, she’s a Christian. @@호잇호-z6r 라이브라 하면 라이브라 할 수 있겠지요. 반주를 제외한 영상과 사운드를 One Take로 그대로 올렸네요. 기존처럼 여러번 녹음한걸 편집해서 올리거나 영상찍고 사운드따로 입히고 그런 일반적인 방식이 아니 라이브영상처럼 한번의 시도를 그대로 무편집으로 올린거지요. 물론 이 한번을 위해 여러 Take 중 하나를 또는 본인이 만족한 마지막 Take일지 알수는 없지만.. 매우 신선하고 새로운 시도이네요. 특히나 감정전달이... 분명이 한국인고 아닌데.. 뭔가 업그레이된 것 같네요.

The only the truth untold cover that can make me cry. Seriously. Probably Miyu didn't get the best technique or timbre but feel at how she sing. So soulful and deep. I agree but only as a soloist. In this video she expressed the super sad version. During PD48 Gyuri and Miho made impact by bringing the feeling of "protest!! caused by the sadness". Somehow making Miyu became underrated. Miyu should be a soloist from the start. I even wondering what was she doing in AKB48.

I like Izone from the start in their debut but when Miyu sing a ballad song, she's the best. I just remember in a episode of produce 48 when they sing this song. Miyu, Miho, Saho and Gyuri, it's perfect song. I hope they meet in future on stage and sing a ballad song together but this time a group named "4G"
