It’s a shame they focus so much on collaborations in America simply because Americans want to hear more English in BTS’ songs. It kind of discredits the work that BTS can do alone.

clover yeah I definitely understand that to an extent, and of course BTS doesn’t want to give too much away when they’re promoting their album. BTS probably wants to put it into the universe that they def want to collaborate with other artists. As for the translator thing, I think that if BTS/BigHit wanted to have one they would have one and BTS and radio stations have the resources to provide one, but like you said they’re trying to be personable and as involved with fans as they can be so they decide against a translator period. I don’t think JoJo is that bad and maybe BigHit is more strict about what they can ask too. But I think some controversy stems from like interviews with say people like Zach Sang, who put in a bit more thought into their questions and maybe take the time to get a diverse and deeper set of questions approved.

I think ARMY are always helping BTS out big time in these interviews. The cheering and answering really helps to not make the interview awkward and stuck (because of either their limited English or repetitive questions.) Most ARMY probably knew this interview was not going to be that well prepared by the first question. The questions were okay but nothing too deep. Thank you ARMY for helping BTS, even if they don't know it. It's so awkward when they're by themselves and it's quiet.

As a polyglot and a person with a multicultural (mono-multilingual) family, i.e. some only speak German, some only speak Spanish, and some only speak English. I have to say RM is an incredibly humble, kindhearted, and patient leader. Having to be the communicator (not just the translator) is exhausting *af* and when I travel with my family and have to serve as the “speaker” on the 3rd day I lose my cool. Having to tell people what others say and also convey the emotions with that is CRAZY! In his case - in addition - he is the public voice of the group. I cannot imagine how it must feel to give so many interviews, being under such a pressure, being scrutinized, and maintaining a chill positive vibe all the time. 😰😪😪 So although I’m a V & JK diehard, I think RM should get some extra love from ARMY just the extra love and work he puts as the international voice of BTS. 💜💜💜
