The fact that this song is mostly in Korean... that alone is a big deal, and speaks to the respect that Coldplay has for BTS. It wasn't about them coming in and assuming it would be all-English because they're an English band and they've been top artists for 20 years already. They connected so well because they're all such good, genuine people. And the song is about being "all one" and dissolving barriers - the perfect comeback to everyone who criticized BTS just for deigning to sing a cover of a Coldplay song! Who woulda thought that, all along, Coldplay and BTS have been working on THIS.

Historic Collaboration: This one is right up there with Michael Jackson and Sir Paul McCartney! I loved the reciprocal admiration of each other. Chris for BTS's unique talent; BTS members fanboying over an idol of theirs. You can see in our BTS men how they still do not see themselves as "the biggest band on the planet". They're in awe that a "celebrity" of Chris's magnitude would want to work with them. I also loved seeing Chris sitting on the studio floor as if he had just become 20 again! The other thing too about his "directing" or encouraging BTS members as they sang, well he is a dad of teenagers so maybe that experience helped as well - how to connect with 20's something BTS members. Imagine the excitement in the BTS members - There was Chris Martin - one of THEIR IDOLS - right in front of them, working with them, wanting to sing with them. I first saw Coldplay at their debut concert in Toronto, February 2001, in a rave/edm hall with 2000 people. To me, seeing this collaboration speaks to me of how the universe conspired to make this happen. We're students and teachers every single second of our lives and there was a need and a purpose to give life to My Universe. For me, it's not a coincidence that Chris had a melody and name stuck in his head. He was asked to connect with his kindred spirit (BTS) and bring this song to life. I'm happy Chris heard the call and BTS answered it. When kindred spirits finally hear their whale song being answered, they're no longer the loneliest whale. :)

16:57 No, JK didn't say "child", he actually said the Korean word "자" pronounced as "Cha", which means "Now". It's part of the 2nd lyric sentence in his verse, i.e "Now, hold my hand", but he sings it a bit earlier, alongwith the 1st lyric sentence, so it seems like he's singing it together with the 1st line, that's why it feels like it's an English word, when it's actually a Korean word! 🙂

Namjoon & Jhope went to Coldplay's concert few years ago. Also, I rewatch Bon Voyage season 1 recently and realized they were jamming to Coldplay's song already back then 😅 True fans. Loved this documentary 💜 grew up listening to Coldplay’s music and BTS has had such a positive impact on my life since I found them, so this collab is everything. You can really see how genuine they all are and that they really do put their heart into it. If you haven't seen it yet you need to react to Coldplay Viva La Vida live in Sao Paulo. The energy Chris gives when performing and the crowd giving him that same energy back, it's just a magical feeling. I wish i would've been there. Also there were pictures and videos of BTS attending the Coldplay concert in korea five years ago and they were fanboying hard, so i can't even imagine how it must've felt being in the same recording studio as him, doing a song together.

Chris had a plan for the boys parts and who was gonna sing what parts before he even got there lol the paper in his hand shows his notes and what he has been thinking each member would do….
