N during that time Reigns was not the highest merchandise seller, top draw, needle mover. He had the backing of the machine unlike any guy for this long. He is ahead it is a fact. But there were n are better people than him who did nit get enough chances. Seth is one. Drew another. Bray another. By chances I mean, constantly being given main event spot at wm year after year, giving him key wins at key matches. This is what builds a star in the eyes of the people. People care less after a time about people who lose key matches. Example Bray losing to Goldberg in the title match in 5 minutes. Bray losing to taker at wm who was the natural successor to Taker but Reigns was given that win. Drew carried wwe on his back during pandemic n when reigns returned, they took the bandwagon from his back n reinserted that on reigns again. Drew even lost to reigns. Only feuding with Punk has helped him big time now. Many such things happened during that time. Reigns being in a place where he is now, did not happen naturally.

These are people who got organically over with fans on their own n had a run at the top. Reigns had the reverse root. He was selected for that position first then given that run. Only after being paired with Paul Heyman he started to shine.
