This is the area leading up to the falls on the River Coupall beneath the Buachaile Etive Mor. It is approximately a 70-80 yard walk to the river bank. The damage you see here is caused by hundreds of photographers that trample their way here daily. The area used to have heathers and small shrubs growing but the constant traffic from photographers has rendered the area a quagmire and little grows. The mud is a foot deep in places and there are areas of subsidence and minor landslips near the river bank. The areas along the edge of the river often shows evidence of shrubs being pulled out and branches broken.
