Bubba Ho-tep Trailer - Directed by Don Coscarelli and starring Bruce Campbell, Ossie Davis, Bob Ivy, Larry Pennell, Reggie Bannister. Bubba Ho-tep tells the "true" story of what really did become of Elvis Presley. We find Elvis (Bruce Campbell) as an elderly resident in an East Texas rest home, who switched identities with an Elvis impersonator years before his "death", then missed his chance to switch back.

One of my all-time favorites. It's a movie with one helluva zany, off-the-wall plot, but its characters are surprisingly heartbreaking; you actually care about them. That's hard to do with any movie, but especially one with a plot as ludicrous as Elvis and JFK battling a soul-sucking mummy in a retirement home. Incredible movie. And its soundtrack is an undiscovered masterpiece.

Ossie Davis was a fantastic actor, seeing him in this role was wonderful. In anyone's else's hands, playing an assassinated President JFK ( nearly assassinated in the movie ) might have seemed a tad disrespectful. But here, Mr. Davis's bearing denotes nearly regal authority...maybe He really IS JFK. Regardless, Bruce and Ossie are fantastic together. What's sounds juvenile on paper is stellar on film.

The French are the ones who added the superfluous "u" to the spelling, and then the Brits, well known for kowtowing to the French (like they did when they were bullied by the French [lol] into adopting the metric system), went along with it.

If you're still wondering about that music at 1:39, it was recorded purely for the trailer. More accurately, for the website trailer and then used in the theatrical trailer. It is not available anywhere,to my knowledge, unless you were to get it from the director himself. It's gratifying that it made an impression on you, though.
