Moray eels scare the crap out of me, but after seeing how many cool and awesome colors they come in and how two separate species of the eel can coexist so peacefully with each other, I have a new found respect for these predators.

It's Gymnothorax fimbriatus. By far the most commonly used common name for it is "fimbriated moray".

Thanks. Actually, according to fishbase, the green moray, Gymnothorax funebris, grows to 2.5m/29kg, while the giant moray, Gymnothorax javanicus, grows to 3m/30kg.

Good idea, but it's very difficult to capture them doing anything except sitting in their hole looking out. I've only ever seen 1 in the Andaman Sea, which was at Elephant Head in the Similans, and it was after I made this video. There are a few in my Indonesia videos.

I saw a zebra moray today in Guam. It was a little overcast. It went in a hole and did not come out. So bummed I did not get a chance to video it. I will probably never see another in the day.

Well, technically the largest moray by length is the slender moray (no, not the "No eyes, alway watches" kind of slender), it can grow up to 13 ft long.

You have experience of moray eels biting people? I've only known of them biting divers when they feed them or try and touch them.
