@@Moon-vf8hf If you set off enough alarms drop ships come in for reinforcements. If they spawn together and collide, they both explode. Its quite rare for it to happen. Some enemy's can call in drop ships, like the flying drone's and the commanders that have these large blades, some of these have stealth. They call for reinforcements when they shoot a beacon in the air.

This is one of the only games I would completely respect someone playing on easy mode. Normal mode is like hard mode or extra hard in majority of other shooters. One of my biggest accomplishments as a gamer was besting this game on normal. This is one of the original "get gud" games I ever encountered. Though, it actually has difficulty settings.

Yes and no. The Playstation 2 was the weakest of the three, computing power wise. This engine is confidently written, i.e. the renderer and LOD system is very efficient at rendering those large areas.

PS2 also had a special VRAM type, eDRAM, with superfast memory bandwidth / framebuffer transfer speeds of 48 GB/s, while flagship Nvidia cards could only do about 8 GB/s in 2006. The PS2 also had two vector units besides a main processor, which if optimized well, could deliver incredible graphics. Metal Gear Solid 2 running at 60 FPS, MGS3, Silent Hill 3, Transformers game from 2004 are some of the best examples of this.

I have questions about the Tidal Wave boss fight: I just did this a little while ago, and my experience was quite different. I'm playing it on recruit, but I'm playing it in an emulator. As far as I know, it runs the game correctly, other than graphical glitches. For starters, where did all the energon at 2:04:49 come from? And when I fought him, there was no endless stream of those flying enemies. There was only Tidal Wave. I checked a couple guides and they don't mention any other enemies either. Also, when he got close to me, he'd use red lasers to wreck me.

That’s a rarely documented feature where you’re able to destroy the cannons on Tidal Wave’s chest. When you destroy them, he’ll stop shooting missiles and drop a bunch of Energon, but to compensate, Jet Snipers will begin to spawn after destroying the 2nd and 4th cannons (these Jet Snipers will spawn after dropping Tidal Wave under half his HP on Commander difficulty as well). Also, Tidal Wave only uses his laser attack while you’re on the beach. If you stay on the rocks or in the water, he will never use it. Did you also know Tidal Wave has a fist slam attack? @@CokeMilkYT Thanks for the reply. I saw you shooting at the cannons, but I couldn't really see it having any effect. If they had spawned during my boss fight I never would have beaten it. I absolutely, positively suck at aiming with an analog stick and when you combine having to move at the same time, my game performance becomes pretty pathetic. When I ran into those things on the previous levels, if I didn't have the flak cannon, it would take me probably 2-3 minutes each to destroy them and they would often take off half my energy in the process. As you can probably guess, the boss fight with Starscream wasa major battle for me. I couldn't keep him on the ground and I was useless at shooting him in the air. When I did the Tidal Wave fight, I chose auto-repair, ballistic shield, super heavy duty blaster (he never seemed to be in range for that) and the sniper rifle. I went up on the rocks, but he had a very annoying tendency to either stay just out of range of the sniper rifle, or get right up on top of me to the point where I couldn't get a good angle on his head. So then I would go down to the beach, transform to vehicle mode and go to the rocks at the other end of the island. I repeated that until he was dead. On my first attempt, I was doing good and then he got me with his lasers as I was going to the other end. I tended to avoid the water because I'm never sure which water is too deep. Anyway, thanks for the reply and the link. :)

Assuming you’re on emulator: use the motion-adaptive deinterlacer. The game *is* 30fps, but appears to be 60fps with the correct settings. PS2-era jank that developers used to make games look better than they’re supposed to lol
