I think a lot of us feel the need to justify our actions so we don't get so much hate for the decisions we make. It''s also sometimes a female thing.. to feel the need to justify when it's just not necessary such as saying you don't want to do something. Which is where the "no means no" movement preached. I don't care wtf she does. She's not me. She's her. And because i grew up watching her, I just hope that she's alive and well.

I had plastic surgery done. Nothing wrong with improving yourself or fixing what makes you unhappy, as long as your mindset it right. Can I just add that aside from what you mentioned, tummy tuck is also to remove fats and skin for breast reconstruction eg in the case of breast cancer and losing breast(st). In my case, that happened. I am slim and hardly have a tummy or lax skin. I had two kids and no tummy issue after pregnancies. But due to cancer, I had breast reconstruction using my abdominal fats and skin.

For anyone that says it’s not a big deal and that she didn’t need to make a video on it, you don’t realize how much it can mean to “get your body back”. I have a son and he was huge, I was all belly and I gained 50 pounds in just fluid that my body absorbed. On days that I’m not so bloated my saggy skin is obvious when I suck in. When I know for sure I’m done having kids, I plan to do a tummy tuck as well. I agree that surgeries aren’t as scandalous as they used to be but it can be a huge deal to anyone. It’s surgery, there’s risks, and it takes a lot to make this decision. I love you Lindy ❤️ and I’m so excited to see this journey so that when my time comes I will know what to expect and how recovery will be like ❤️❤️❤️

This is honestly such a good topic to talk about. I think many mothers feel self conscious about their bodies after having children. I know my mom does and she tells me that she looks at herself with such shame that it made her feel “ugly.” She talked to me about getting a tummy tuck so she can feel more happy about herself. I don’t think it should be a topic no mother should feel ashamed of talking.

Hi, when I heard your story about your marriage ending, I knew I needed to respond to you. I, too, went through an extremely painful divorce in December 2019. I thought my life was over and I went through some really dark times. I am also similar to you in that I still fight back tears when I think about it or talk about how devastating it was. I think you are now doing the best thing ever-- doing something for yourself. Throughout my 30 years of marriage, I always put myself on the back burner and made sure everyone else was happy. Needless to say, there just never was much time to spend on me. Now as a single mom of three wonderful young adults, I can't even begin to know how to "do something just for myself". Everyone tells me that it is still early after my divorce and that I still need to take time to get past the "darkness" that I had to deal with. I am so happy for you that you found something to do that focuses on making YOU happy. It makes me smile for you --(not something I have done much of in the recent months gone by). Please make sure to put up a video of yourself when you have recovered--You are beautiful now and you will be beautiful then--even on the inside knowing that you did this for yourself!

Honestly I usually feel sad when KZbinrs make plastic surgery announcements. Its often way after they have had the surgery done, and they talk about their "haters" when it is people showing mild concern for their motivation and asking if they are in the right headspace. Hi Bubz. I started watching your videos ~8-9 years ago but have never commented. I wanted to share that I appreciate your candor and honesty. I hope you don't feel the need to justify this procedure to anyone. I also went through a dark time in my life-perhaps similar to what you are/were going through. Although I loved my body, I became insecure with my breasts. I eventually went under the knife four years ago and it was the best thing I've ever done for myself. I felt so incredible afterwards that I continue to share my experience with everyone who asks. All women are beautiful but sometimes plastic surgery is one of the things we need to do for ourselves to enhance our confidence. Wishing for a quick recovery, Lindy. Loving Yourself isn't always just "accepting" the body that you have through whatever you've been through in life. It's sometimes also doing things to improve this body and make you more comfortable. I wish more people were as open about things like these, because it is okay to want it. It is okay to demand and deserve things. A lot of body positivity talk is about acceptance, which is absolutely valid. But there is always a mental standpoint that shouldn't be neglected. It's healthy for your body to work out the way you do, but it's also healthy for your mind to get that procedure. You do deserve it because it's what you really want. So whoever thinks negatively about this can just go tuck themselves =) (pun intended)

I feel the same way with my stomach. I´ve had one natural birth and a c-section and I didn´t care about the stretch marks, but the scar I had with my c-section makes me feel self cautious. Now that I´ve finally decided to get out of a toxic relationship I´d like to do something about it. Now all I need is the money haha. But I´m starting to feel beautiful again, and I want to loose as much belly fat as I can and wear that dress I couldn´t wear before because my husband used to make my self esteem go to the ground. I´m with you all the way Bubz

No need to try and justify it, your muscles were literally ripped apart so its an issue for your physical wellbeing too. Plus even if it were just about how it looks it's your body and if you want to change anything about it you should be able to do that. So excited for you!

Important - this is a love letter to you, and the worry about the timing of your surgery (not the decision to have surgery itself!!). And it really is a letter, because it is super long 😅 I'm happy that you get to do something for yourself. And I'm not saying that you shouldn't do it, as I have had plastic surgeries myself. But I'm a bit worried about your timing. That you are going it this with the pain and the insecurity the end of your marriage have caused you. And this worry stems from love. I've been in the same/a similar mindset when I had my first surgery. And it wasn't good, because I was not able to deal with the fallout the surgery had (i.e. the result itself, scars,..). To me it was the one thing that could fix something I didn't like about myself. It would cure the insecurities my past relationships left me with, I would magically have all the self-confidence in the world and would like what I saw in the mirror. But the reality at the time was, that I tried to be someone I was not and look like a person that I was not. Because if I just was beautiful enough, things would have been different in the relationship. If I was only beautiful enough, I would be worth something. And I also would get some revenge. Now I would be "perfect" and my ex-partner would want to be with me, but, this time around, I wouldn't want to be with him. And while you may say that this doesn't go through your mind, it is pretty obvious that it does influence the decision. And the hurt and insecurities your marriage left you with, are a major factor in the decision to get the surgery now. While there is nothing wrong with wanting to change something about your body, the way you describe it, it seems that your motivation at the moment is coming from the emotional pain you experience and about having control. As you said, the psychological pain isn't going away, but physical pain seems "easier" to control (e.g. pain killers, you know your body is healing, you expect your body to heal in a given time-frame) and it makes you feel something that tells you that your body is still alive, despite your soul might feeling as if it were drowning. To me, and I can be wrong, the relationship with your ex-husband seems like it was manipulative and emotionally abusive. Making you feel like you aren't good enough. The way you describe reclaiming the person you once were and that you feel an impulse to change something about yourself now, are things that a lot of people who have been in emotionally abusive relationships experience. And it has left you with the feeling that you are not enough. This is not a mindset to go into plastic surgery with. What I am trying to say is that you will find other things about yourself that you are insecure about and don't like at all. Maybe the results of the surgery itself will not be satisfying. Yes, the surgery will give you back confidence, but you will have huge scars. Depending on your skin and how it heals, you might be looking at scar removal in the future. And depending on how the wide the incision is, there is a chance that there will be a visible disruption in your silouette. And while you are not planning to get pregnant again, if you gain weight in the future the scar might stretch with the rest of your skin, i.e. scar removal might be necessary, or it will give you a bumpy look because the rest of your skin will stretch above and below the incision line and the scar itself will not. I don't know if you are in therapy, but you probably should look into it. And I'm saying that as someone who has been in therapy for a couple of years now. A good therapist can not only accompany you in this difficult time, but will also question major decisions like that and guide you to look at the source of the issues. And a good therapist would have told you that you are not in the mindset to go into this surgery now, even if you think you have everything under control. Again it is not about not having the surgery at all, but the mindset you have going into it. I am also worried about your doctors behaviour. Having worked at a plastic surgeons office and having had plastic surgery myself, it is very irresponsible of the doctor to let you book the surgery upon the first visit. Yes, it might be common practice, but that doesn't make it a good thing. I don't know if you told him the reason why you chose to get the surgery now. If you did, he should have told you to wait and confront the emotional issues you are dealing with, and then come back for at least another appointment and to book the surgery at a later date. While some plastic surgeons don't believe it is their responsibility to make sure the patient is emotionally ready for a procedure, in my opinion, it is. A plastic surgeon should at least tell you to think about the decisions for some time, like at least 2 weeks, and tell you that your motivation at the moment might leave you dissatisfied, in terms of the expectations of how you will feel after. Especially since there is no perfect result. Something will be off, may it be the scar or the look you expected. And while that is usually something that might make someone initially unhappy, the feeling will subside because they will feel good about the decision they made and the result overall. But in someone who is doing this out of an impulse (which you are doing, even if you say you unconsciously have been thinking about it for a long time, as the timing shows that it is a reaction to the difficulties you experience at the moment), the chance that that person will then start fixating on every little thing that might not be perfect, is very high. A plastic surgeon's job should be to see you once (apart from post-op check ups, and other, unrelated, procedures you might want to have), and not to have you keep coming back, because the result is not the perfection you imagined. I know you won't change the decision to do the surgery in August, but it feels necessary to question be questioning it. And please, for the next 9-10 days, please try to objectively question your reasons. If you would tell a friend that they shouldn't have the surgery now, don't try to find excuses why it is different for you. Try to put your own emotions about your situation aside, and concentrate on how you would react to a friend in the exact situation that you are in now. If you would give your friend the advise to have the surgery at a later date, or if you would tell them that you are worried about their decision, then that applies to yourself as well and you should examine if you might want to go about it differently. I do, very much, wish you the best. And that your recovery, be it physically or emotionally, will be a quick one.

Lindy, thank you for telling your truth. Sometimes I see the world from only 1 view of point and I don't like that. I admit in some cases I am quick to judge. The one I judge the most is myself. There is no ideal and perfect, there is not a rule why you shouldn't do certain(not harmful) things to feel better about yourself. For many years and felt like makeup is fake too, and people who wear them don't like their natural faces. You taught me that is not the case. This video also reassured me that it's okay to do things for ourselves. If it doesn't hurt anyone, makes one feel good than why not... Others' opinion is just their point of view. Not the truth of the Univerese... You gave me confidence in myself and to ignore the noise. Thank you for helping me become a better person and always being honest with us! Love from Hungary

It's your body and your choice! Being comfortable in your own skin is important, and if a tummy tuck helps get you there, then it's your choice to take this option! Love your vids, Bubz! Very inspirational!

I was really wondering when you would come to realize that no work out gets rid of the way the skin is damaged from carrying a baby. A tummy tuck gets rid of it. Kudos to your efforts but this is the only way to get rid of the skin that you feel isn’t a part of you any longer! Anyway I’m ever so shocked about the separation, good luck to you and I know you will love yourself even more after the tummy tuck. God bless 💜
