Bucharest, Romania changed my life a long time ago. I went from being homeless in Chicago to moving to Romania for 1 year. The first night I was in Bucuresti I met up with the DJs from a great dance club and ended up taking the 'blue pill' at an after hours club at 4:am then passed out and woke up at 11:am on Sunday morning with no one around me but the cleaning crew. I didn't even know the address of my hotel so I just walked out and into the streets. I went into a barber to get a haircut and a manicure then after I walked out the guy who brought me to Romania saw me. THIS IS THE REAL HANGOVER MOVIE STORY!!!!

Hi Martijn. Nice material, as always. A little correction: Romanian Revolution took place in 1989, not 1998. It was the last civil movement in Eastern Europe in that year to get away from the Soviet Block. In one of the Bucharest neighborhoods there is a huge mural about that, depicting cranes and the message: "1980 - Started in Gdansk. 1989 - Ended in Bucharest."

Great video. Very well done. We're hoping to visit Bucharest during the month of early May. Which area would you recommend that we stay at? Should we book some tours since we are only there for 2 to 3 days and we want to make the best out of it. We want to spend one full day visiting Transylvania. Do you have any videos related to a day trip from Bucharest?
@MartijnAroundTheWorld Жыл бұрын
I had a great stay in the Old Town. In the Hilton Garden Inn, close to a lot of restaurants and bars. Just 15-20 minutes walking to the Palace. For this video I didn't travel outside the city.. so maybe there is someone else who can give you an advise for Transylvania.

@@MartijnAroundTheWorld thank you. When I look at hotels, I see even though it's in old town, there are sectors?
@ralukral96517 ай бұрын
@@NLMusiqueHello! The Best areas are Unirii, Universitate and Victoria. They are the closest to the Old Center. Bucharest is like a big cake, dividend in 6 sectors. Each cake slice is a sector. The center, where all sectors meet is at Universitate. So, look for hotels or airbnb in that area. Also, it has a metro station. Transilvania is at about 2-4 hours distance, depending on the traffic. You need 3-4 days to visit all the hightlights.

Hello! Romanian here. You can find on GetYour Guide site a lot of guided one-day trips from Bucharest to Sinaia. The trip is about 2-3 hours, depending on the trafic. The Bran Castle (Dracula) is overrated. It's not really worth visiting it. 90% of the castle is empty. Only some paintings, drawings and small pieces of furniture in some rooms. There are a lot of corridors, small rooms, stairs, a very tight passage and it's very very windy. You may want to wear a cap or something. What I highly recomand visiting is the Pelesh Castle (the Romanian Royal Family's residence). It is way more beautiful. Also, the City of Sighișoara is very very nice (it is the best preserved Medieval town) and Brașov. You can travel by train if you want to, but our trains are not the fastests 😅. To visit Transilvania, you need 3-4 days.
