Thank you, I appreciate the kind words! I need to work on the camera angles and focus.. Unfortunately there was not 'take two' opportunities on this project. Live without a net. Hopefully there will be more projects like this in the future.

Nice job, Mo. It was fun to see one of your dudes being born. Nice piece of carving wood you found. That face turned out crisp and full of character. My daughter showed up here for Thanksgiving with a small pile of red alder. I finally got me some! Great video, brother. Carve on!

Great stuff, Mo! Great knife (with a BigJ edge), leatherwork and carving. At a previous home, I had a basswood tree in my front yard. Always thought, if it ever had to come dowm, I would have carving material for years. Travis will have lots of great stories to go with that knife. Have a great day!
@kirbycreekmoАй бұрын
I hear good things about Basswood. Around here it's softwood forests.

Nice video, enjoyed the carving. As far as the stockman pocket knife goes I can’t think of a better design or style for an all around hard use slip joint pocket knife and that Buck is awesome.

Another epic Journey into the world of Mo X!! That red Alder looks really tough! Fantastic Job on finding the Dude in the Beachwood! Wonder why they dont make the 307 anymore? Cannot wait to see this one! Thank you!
@kirbycreekmoАй бұрын
It is an easier carve when it's somewhere between this dry and green. I don't think large stockman knives are popular with "normies."
@BaxtersBladesАй бұрын
@kirbycreekmo yeah. Good point. Im not a Normie for sure. Love my 75s so i will probably love this one!😂

Would you prefer using a whittler pattern knife or the stockman if you could choose what pattern to carve with? I’ve been wanting to get more into carving and noticed the small blades will make your thumbs sore after a while. Thinking about buying a dedicated GEC English whittler to carve with. It looks like the fatter back of the blade might make it a little easier to do push cuts.
@kirbycreekmo24 күн бұрын
Generally, I'd say I prefer a stockman. Most whittlers are too small for me to work with comfortably.
@joshkelly642324 күн бұрын
@@kirbycreekmo well i guess I’ll give my old stockman a try then. Appreciate it. I’m going to watch your video and try to make me a dude 😂.. sure my dude won’t look as cool though..
