This man had to be one of the sweetest guys there ever was. Always a delight to listen to him talk.

I had the honor of meeting Mr. O’Neil years ago. What a kind gentleman and great ambassador for the game of baseball.

My dad took me to a Kansas City Royals game when I was 14. We sat front row to the left of the royals dugout. During pregame, Buck came up to me, shook my hand, and gave me a signed KC monarchs hat. I should have put it in a case, but I wore that hat for years until it was a rag. I always figured that was the way an old ball player would've liked it.

I remember an interview with Buck when they were discussing pitching. He was asked about the slider and he said that they had it back in his day, but they didn't call it a slider. They called it a "nickel curve".

If I was Mr. Letterman, I would not have let that man leave. Mr. O'Neil is worth much more than 8 minutes.

Dave accidently said they didn't allow white players in MLB instead of black players. I wonder if anyone caught that.

Ah, I think quite a few people did. Buck was such a gentleman, he didn't point it out.
