This was the 6:00 am call to post for my Dad and all the other Air Force Men at Hahn Air Force Base in Germany. They piped it over those huge old style outdoor speakers... So every morning it was Buck Owens as loud as an air raid siren, "I ....got ...... a ........ Tiger by the Tail"! Great Memories!

Another #1 hit for Buck Owens on the Country & Western charts. It was the 82nd #1 song on the C&W charts in the Rock Era. By this time, it looked like this man from Bakersfield, CA was going to be a force in Country Music.

Just picturing Boss Hogg on the reality show "So You Think You Can Dance". Appreciate the fact that Buck is really singing and playing. Many others just lip-synced.

I always thought is was so funny the relationship between the Dukes, Boss Hogg and Roscoe. They were always trying to blackmail, shanghi, rustle and jail the Dukes and then at the end of the show (As witnesses in this clip) they were all friends and the Dukes even frequented (and worked) at the Boars Nest....80's TV. If only politicians were like that. We'd all be much better off!!
@Johndonvan8614 жыл бұрын
I agree i always though the same the way boss treated them
@bierwolf83603 жыл бұрын
There's also the christmas episode, where they all are down at the Duke's, Boss even bearin' presents. Especially Roscoe winds up working/ sympathizing with them on several accounts when it gets serious (when Boss is kidnapped, when he thinks he accidentally killed Bo and Luke, when they could go to prison for real or when he hired a hitman on a misunderstanding). People usually don't get hurt unless they're really bad in this show (and even then it's just bruises and prison). Wholesome fun for the family.

I was too young to remember Buck and Don Rich on Hee Haw, but I sure do appreciate all the old clips of Buck & Don now. I do remember the gray-haired guy singing harmony with Buck. Whats his name? He's the one I vividly remember from my childhood days watching Hee Haw.

Doyle Curtsinger..he was a Buckaroo for many years....
@billcary302 жыл бұрын
@@aaronking7326 i can't find a single clip where doyle actually is featured other than harmony. not sure what the deal with that was considering he stayed with buck till he retired (or died not sure which). on hee haw don would get featured at least once a year even if just on a verse of some song, yet to find a clip that actually features doyle. doyle's also one of the few tenors that actually play bass in a band. usually it's done by the baritone ro bass.

Good song. This speed trap thing of Boss Hogg's was a great idea. Now didn't it sound like Luke was in on it when Buck asked if he'd ever be safe driving in Hazzard County, and Luke answered: "Only if you pass through with laryngitis."
@SteveGaines15 жыл бұрын
Buck said in a 1999 interview "After the death of Don Rich, the spark was gone, the drive was gone , all the passion for music was gone"..Buck suffered a nervous breakdown and never really got over it

Wouldn't all country artists have been warned about passing through Hazzard County? At least one got stopped twice. I remember Buck having the beard for a few years. Where was the rest of his band? All we got was Doyle Curtsinger playing bass and singing harmony. Don Rich's death really did a number on Buck.

I don't know exactly from what year this video clip is (Dukes Of Hazzard 1979/85), but now you can see and hear: BUCK's music and singing sounds different as during the DON RICH period (until 1972, the year DON died by motorcycle-acc.) SO VERY PITY , SO VERY VERY PITY, because that typical BUCK-DON sound made Buck Owens famous, all over the world....
