The way Atsushi transitioned from this big spiked blonde hair carefree rocker boy that dances & jumps around stage to this enigmatic man with silky long black hair that’s able to perfectly exude feminine yet masculine energy will forever be amazing to me. You can feel his aura through the screen, its so captivating and surreal. I’ve never seen anything like it, i can’t even put it into words. I can go on & on about the band changing as a whole too, their songs are insanely good so ahead of their time. It’s sometimes hard to grasp that a band like this & a man this beautiful even existed back then. Sad to think that we’ll probably never experience anything like them again.

I found out about Buck-Tick this spring when I decided to learn more and delve deeper into gothic rock and post-punk. I was struck by Atsushi's gorgeous vocals. Japanese is not my first language, and I can't understand the full range of meanings of the lyrics. But there is so much feeling in his vocals and intonation that everything becomes clear without words. I am absolutely heartbroken. He is an incredible creator, and his work has certainly given him immortality. Rest in peace, Atsushi Sakurai.

Conheci Buck-Tick através de Dress e ainda me lembro da primeira vez que vi o videoclipe... O jeito único do Sakurai, seu lado misterioso, seu cabelo incrivelmente comprido, sua maquiagem, sua andeogenia... Parecia que ele havia saído de um sonho e toda a temática me deixou completamente encantada, a melodia da música, as cores, a própria letra da musica em si que é tão poética.... A sensação foi incrivelmente nostálgica, como se por algum motivo eu ja tivesse assistido dezenas e dezenas de vezes, e até os dias de hoje essa sensação continua se repetindo e eu ainda não consigo explicar o porque disso... Não demorou muito e eu viciei em Buck-Tick... Podemos dizer que esses 5 japoneses foram a minha terapia diária e meu conforto, passei por muitas coisas e quando estava prestes a estoram eram eles que me acalmavam... Quando descobrir a morte do Sakurai, era de madrugada, eu chorei o dia inteiro, nunca senti isso antes, mas a sensação que tive foi como se tivesse perdido uma parente extremamente próximo... Nunca fui de me apegar algum artista, e até achava estranho sofrer por algum, mas ele, bem... Ele foi diferenfe e acho que nunca vou aceitar que ele se foi... Houve um momento eu queria nunca ter visto eles, nunca ter conhecido a banda, nunca ter escutado sequer sua voz, eu pensei que seria melhor assim e que não sofreria tanto, mas estaria sendo hipócrita e me engando. O tempo que eu te conheci foi precioso demais e agradeço por tudo que banda fez... Eles me ajudam nos meus piores momento e ainda continuam me ajudando. O impacto de Sakurai em minha vida foi profundo, ele foi uma inspiração e continuará sendo. Suas músicas funcionaram como um bálsamo para as feridas da minha alma, reavivando minha paixão pela vida Seu legado é um presente inestimável para o mundo. Suas memórias serão como estrelas no céu noturno, iluminando minha jornada. Mesmo que a lembrança cause dor, carrego-a com carinho. Amo e sempre sentirei sua falta. Espero, aos poucos, encontrar a recuperação necessária. Apesar de nunca termos nos encontrado, ele salvou minha vida e continua a ensinar sobre a preciosidade de viver.
