This is an extremely well made product review video. I appreciate the level of knowledge and detail that you go into with your review. Other videographers spend a lot of time saying "I don't know", but you don't engage any topic you aren't prepared for. Well done.

I really liked this review. I love knives that are built tough and are not seen on every youtube top 5 list. Every knife reviewer usually shows a Sebenza, a Strider, an Emerson, a Spyderco and a Kershaw. If I could find this knife for $100 like you did...I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

I have owned this knife since the day it came out as I am an avid TOPS user. I own SOG vulcans, Zero Tolerance, Cold Steel and Strider. This is absolutely the best and toughest knife I own bar none. Best $85 I ever spent on a knife.

The Rocky Mountain tread is an optional feature on a lot of TOPS Knives, not Buck. Nice blade. Looks pretty heavy duty.

ATS 34 Steel - This steel is very similar to 154 CM. It has 1.05% carbon. It is also one of those classified in the super category. There are lots of high-end custom knives that use this steel.

Awesome knife dude. I just ordered mine yesterday. I also found the buck tool in a bunch of sites. Can't wait till it comes in.

Looks like some normal exchangeable screwdriver bits might fit in the "lanyard hole"

First of all let me say your bids are great keep them going very informative , I have looking for this knife and I have noticed there a couple variations of this model, could you help and let me know which one is the better one , thank you. Rudy
@chbclark14 жыл бұрын
Hey JT, does the "Hex Driver" fit standard hex bits that would go in a screw gun? If that were the case, you wouldn't need additional Buck brand bits you could use any standard hex bits and expand the knife's versatility through the roof.
@ArtistBlade197214 жыл бұрын
Is that hex hole 1/4"? If so it'll accept most any 1/4" drive hex bit. That's a cool accessory except for the fact that you'd have to carry all the bits lose unless there is a place in the case for them?

It is a BIG hunk of steel! I held one and it seems more like a pry-bar than a knife.

I bought one of these when they originally came out somebody stole it on me but they did come with a excessive tool kit that came with a hex drive and multi tools it was a very impressive and sturdy blade

@GMGvanS No problem. I hate 154cm, especially by benchmade. I firmly believe ATS-34 to be one of the absolute best stainless steels available for folder applications. Heat treating is far more important than steel type however. An inferior alloy with top shelf heat treat will consistently out-perform the best steel with mediocre HT. If you can get a spyderco in ATS-34 you will be very pleased. They have totally mastered heat treating that steel.

this knife looks good for a rescue tool but how good do you think it works as a combat knife or defenseive knife??

@HELLZZARMY I have another question if you got the time. If you had to choose between this and the SOG Vulcan, which would you choose for overall durability and function as a knife to deploy to theater with? (i can't get a hands on look where i am)

Great knife bro! I bought one the week they were released.. Solid feeling knife!
@ArtistBlade197214 жыл бұрын
@GMGvanS ATS-34 has almost the exact chemistry as 154CM. 154CM was made to be the american version of the japanese ATS-34. I think ATS-34 is superior because in practical application it will take and hold a much keener edge.
@424chuckles13 жыл бұрын
@JT on new grahm it shows it with a much worse sheath idk if it will come with that one or htey downgraded the quality of sheath i think that the sheath is a big selling point hopefully they didnt cause it may be a deal breaker

why is it a search and reascue tool when its just an over weight folder? I could carry a Spyderco Delica and a blackhawk reascue tool for the same weight with more capability. but thats just my take

Great blade for prying doors. Hook and safe blade for cutting clothes or stapping. Glass breaker. CS&R. Could have did without the hex.

Your comment about "Why they call it a 'TOOL' not a knife.. There are no laws against 'TOOLS', so in a court-senario the owner/user of the 'TOOL' is not violating any law concerning/against 'Knives/weapons'... If the Owner/user admits/presents it's a 'Knife/weapon', then the laws applicable to 'Knives/weapons' kicks in... It is VERY important to present a 'TOOL' as a tool, not create a legal-black-hole to be swallowed-up in by mis representing the original intent of a 'TOOL' as established..

nice vid and nice knife,but the idea of a hunting/fishing magazine calling a thick,heavey,double lined,folding knife with a tanto tip as the best of the best is so incredibly absurd that it makes me wonder who payed for the endorsement or the IQ of the staff that voted for it....ridiculas,i bet you couldn't pay a knife savy hunter to use that on fish or game
