The timing of this vid is strangely perfect as 2 days ago I had a dream which triggered a forgotten memory that prompted me to go thru the entire Zepp discog, revisiting albums/songs I hadn’t heard in years. Page was the reason I picked up the guitar & learned to play. Bucket & I are same age & tho he’s referenced many players as influences (you can hear all of them in his music) I suspect Page was a very big one for him as well. I also remember being so stoked after waiting in line to purchase movie tickets for the day 1 premiere of ‘The Song Remains the Same’. As I was reveling in the riffs of my youth, I couldn’t help but think of Bucket, how he’s used the inspiration of players before him & taken the level of composition, creativity & playing to places & heights which seemed unimaginable at that time. I also often wonder if Page (& other legends like EVH, etc.) ever heard Big B’s music & admire his genius. Anyhoo, sorry for the long rambling brother, this vid just hit home with fond memories of my youth. Fav BH Zepp cover is ‘10 Years Gone’. For me, Zepp III was a vastly underrated album as I spent 6 weeks ~age 17 learning ‘Since I Been Loving You’ ...by ear (pre-tabs era). Damn I’m old! 😆 Woo!!
@NatterNet4 жыл бұрын
Nice story! Thank you, brother. Bucket and Page for me are the 2 GOATs (B will always be my #1 of course) and nobody comes close to Zeppelin as a rock band. Interesting to know if Page is aware of Bucket, I'd like to think so. And agreed Zep III is awesome from start to finish, well, most of their albums were, I think the only one that never did it for me was Coda, but that was like a left overs album anyway. Woo!!
