Buckeye Fans Celebrate Michigan Upset

Following the Ohio State victory over Youngstown State, OSU fans under Ohio Stadium celebrate Appalachian State's amazing upset of the Michigan Wolverines. Go Bucks!

I am glad I stuck around. I was in no hurry to get home, I watched the YSU band do their awesome 80's postgame show, and then went down to join the rest of the Buckeyes fan in football heaven! You guys who down watching in 5A might remember us doing the over rated chant, well PSU did the same exact chant at the same exact time as seen in one of the videos... simply awesome

I was at this game we Buckeye fans were happier about this than beating YSU. one of the best day of my life. First Buckeye game & #5 Mich. got beat by a FCS (1AA) school.

and just one season ago, the big debate was over if michigan or ohio state deserved to play for the national title; and we all saw how that turned out for the buckeys. If this doesn't prove that college football needs a playoff system, nothing will.

You've never been to PSU then I take it. There's tons of cities around to visit, State College, Altoona, Johnstown, Harrisburg. They're not Manhattan but they're not wide open grassfields either.

It's no longer cyclical. Warm weather schools are attracting 75% of 4 and 5 star recruits. As a result, the SEC and Big 12 South will only get better, while the Big 10 and Big 12 North will compete for fewer and fewer quality players.

(Continued ...) Secondly, no one should be surprised by Ohio State fans cheering a Michigan loss. It's the nature of the rivalry. I've always believed that OSU and UM could go into their game with 0-11 records and it would still be just as intense as it always is. I have personally seen how deliriously happy Gators fans are when the Seminoles, lose. This sprit is part of what makes college football SO enjoyable. Time and change will surely show, how firm thy friendship, O-HI-O! Go Buckeyes!

Penn State is officially credited with 2 national championships 1982,1986 and 6 undefeated seasons...would be 7 if not for the big ten refs in 2005.

It doesn't make sense that OSU fans are happy that Mich. lost that game. It would make sense for OSU to root for teams in their conference playing non-conference games. It made the Big Ten look weak and OSU should want to play teams that are highly ranked because if you do beat the higher ranked teams, more points will comeand you'll look better.

well you kinda said what i meant, i might have come across wrong. i didnt mean that any of them were bad, cause thatd be dumb to say. but a few of the teams are doing really well, and the rest arent doing bad, but they're nothing great. up and down seasons, doing ok stuff like that. a few years ago, they were ALL doing amazing which was the beauty of the SEC. and they're starting to turn into another BCS conference with having a couple awesome teams and the rest of them doing alright.

I somehow doubt that. Michigan lost because it couldn't defend against a spread offense. Appalachian State was up 28-14 at one point because of that. Ohio State and Penn State, who are good at defending against a spread offense, would almost assuredly win something like 36-24.

Thanks for viewing the video, everyone... and for your very entertaining comments. I have a couple of observations. One -- Appalachian State has a very fine football team. It's the two-time defending champion of Division I-AA (or whatever it's called now) and could probably whip a whole lot of Division I teams on any given Saturday. The Mountaineers' players and coaches deserve a lot of credit for showing up in a big way in what must certainly have been a very intimidating environment.

All the so called experts had Michigan rated ahead of Ohio St. to start the season. Ohio St. will almost certainly be ranked ahead of Michigan when the next poll comes out. Michigan may even fall out of the Top 25. Chad Henne, Mike Hart, Mario Manningham, Jake Long, and all the supposed Michigan offensive firepower was not enough to beat Appalachian St. Some people on Michigan Live's Wolverines forum already have Michigan coach Lloyd Carr gone by season's end.

OU is good but Texas has looked horrible and I wouldn't be suprised if Ohio State loses to Washington. The National Championship will be between OU, LSU or USC. If all goes well it will be a championship between the best in the SEC and the best in the PAC 10 since those are clearly the best conferences in the NCAA at the moment.

More big 12 than the SEC... imo the SEC isnt quite as good as it was a few years ago, i think they're on their downswing. yeah yeah yeah florida is going undefeated yada yada yada, but like i said the SEC as a whole is going downhill, which is why florida is killing all their SEC opponents, the beautiful thing about the SEC was ALL the teams were good. now you've got Florida and a a couple of other ranked teams... kinda like the big 10.... just my opinion, i could very well be wrong.
