An excellent crop! We use to fill a 14x45 Harder on our small farm in the late 80's, early 90s with this. Open it October 30th, carried us to May when we would let the cows back out. Drop it with a Zetor 7211 hooked to a Badger BN1009 Haybine, chopped it with a Deutz D68-06 on an Allis Chalmers 782, into 16' Badger Boxes, blew it up with a short table AC blower that had a WD45 Power unit on it.

Just as I was trying to figure out why he was mowing the short way of the field he turned and started going with the long rows ,go figure ,that is one heck of a mower, better have a lot of acres lined up to make that affordable! Seems like the middle mower is narrower than the outside ones ,would make it interesting to rake if you tried to follow the rows! Thanks for the video!

I'm guessing the Krone has GPS fitted to help with bout matching, otherwise it would be very difficult to maintain a parallel path to the previous run, since the 'wing' mowers are situated so far back and out of line of sight of the driver ? Great drone footage from all angles and no annoying, distracting music. That Krone driver certainly isn't hanging about.

The Big M is in my opinion the better option than the Claas machine with the 5 decks as it just seems there's more to break/wear out. the Krone will have less maintenance but it sure looks lanky when the decks are down.

@@SoloTwo42 that is correct. Big M probably just as fast at mowing as it's more compact and powerful per metre mowed, therefore faster.

This thing does what, 6m wide at 14km/h, or around 8 hectares an hour, or 128 hectares per farmer's work day(16), or 896 hectares per week(7). So for your harvest week, you'd need about 9 kilometer squared of fields just to use that machine efficiently for a week, just ... wow?
@4schitzangiggles16 күн бұрын
Um, that thing is cutting 14-16 hectares per hour. The cut width is 9.95m and typical cutting speed is @ 25kph so it is extremely efficient. Weather windows to get crops in at peak ripeness can be frustratingly small and any increase in capacity can mean the difference between profitability or losing $$$. I have a 14' swather that gets used a grand total of 6 days all summer but without it the wife's 12 horses wouldn't have any feed in the winter. Also have a baler that gets used maybe 3 days a summer. That swather does what used to take 18-21 days, baling hay went from 12-15 days down to three because of its increased capacity over our older baler. New Disc mowers are $275,000-$425,000USD and the balers are @ $40-60K A ton of grass horse hay is @ $250-$325 and having it rained on or spoil means having to buy a lot of expensive hay. We grow more than we need to pay for the equipment and horses which are used to teach riding lessons, 4H and FFA for the kids. Farmers buy at retail and sell at wholesale but we somehow make it work
