It's great to hear that Chip Kelly laid the law down with Hartline. Yes, definitely a new sheriff in town, and the results speak for themselves.

Scoop is the bomb, everything Birk and Nevada have said has come true. From not panicking after bowl game, Stallions debacle, UM’s demise, Chip Kelly scheming, TE and WR blocking opening up big gains, Will Howard being great awareness. I’m so much better informed, and I’m here for it every night I can tune in. 🎉 you guys rock!

Keep the breakdown of the film humming every week. I enjoy it, and I'm sure all students of the game do too. It's exciting to see our WR's blocking. The last time that happened with consistency, we won it all. On to Marshall.

One thing I noticed about Chip Kelly's play calling. Carnel Tate made one heck of a block, on the very next play, he sets him up for one heck reception... I believe in rewarding these guys for making the blocks. Because touches are getting spread thin anyway, so if you make a play for the team, you should get the ball

Dittos to everything Kirk and Nevada said. I appreciate Kirk’s O-line breakdown. It is obvious he played the game and speaks from experience. Agree with Nevada on the targeting call. Good rule that is misinterpreted and inconsistently called.

I have NEVER seen a crossing pattern, out of "3 yrds and a cloud of Dust Football", at OSU. They brought that, and it was weaponized to "Score Points". So many crossings runs and passes, and it was beautiful, all night long. #1 AGAIN... Go Bucks ! BTW, that first caller, hit it outa the park with his Loser report on Maze and BLUE. That was sweet reporting, Caller

The officials tried to bail ND out on a 4rth down placement. Northern Ill. Spoiled it by going for it and got the first anyway.

Great show guys love it all. To what I thing of the game: 1. The total Fuster Cluck of an Officiating call of targeting that official needs a 2-3 game suspension where he should get remedial training on targeting. 2. The brain fart kick-off fair catch. (easy peasy training fix). 3. Now the 1 real concern I have penalties 6-71 yds. just mental mistakes mostly. Not sure if the targeting was including in the penalty #'s or not. 1 pi and 1 imandf and 4 ip so 5 mental slip penalties.

There were several things that were critical and needed change and improvement. Scheme/play calling, WR blocking, and actual execution of the linemen. I know it was a lesser foe, but all 3 were there. If the opponent is lesser, than Gee Scott should drive him right out of bounds. And that is exactly what happened. All night they were aggressive at the point of attack. And the Buckeyes lined up with the correct formation to run, and executed play action pass. It was beautiful.
@markgrissom2 ай бұрын
29:41. Be careful here, Kirk made a good point about scheme, the WMU defense is not getting off the ball, they seem hesitant, trying to make their reads back on their heels. What happens when the scheme does not set up the blocking so well? You can bet teams will be looking at old UCLA film of Chip Kelly offenses in addition to this one.

Replay has always screwed us Buckeyes. When it's against us and it IS targeting they reverse it (Clemson2019, Georgia2022). When it's used getting called for it and it ISN'T targeting they call it anyway. These refs are betting on games and it's bad nowadays.
@jaybeeo15302 ай бұрын
Until they play a team with a pulse I’m gonna hold my excitement. We do this every year with OSU. Beat the shit out of crap teams and then can’t beat the Sec and lose 3 straight to TTUN. This team does feel different for sure, but I’m just being emo and been hurt too many times and been told too many times how great OSU is but have nothing to show for it.
@jeffreymcdowell71892 ай бұрын
Exactly Howard has to have trust on deep balls....if it's INT that's just a long punt..ball has to come out sooner if he can't get it there one a line
@markgrissom2 ай бұрын
Well done. The receivers actually blocked on run plays and the O line looked 100% better, so you got to see what Judkins can do. Must watch the holding, the refs seem to be focusing more on it this year. Is it me, or does the offense seems to relax a bit when they think Henderson is getting the ball? Henderson is getting better at keeping his feet under him when he takes on tacklers instead of trying to just throw his body weight into the tackle. When he keeps his feet under him at the point of contact you get a real idea of his power. The big fellas weren't polished and cohesive as you would want, but they played with a "hair on fire", the Ghost Rider shows no mercy attitude.
@OldGuy2-m4c2 ай бұрын
Good game. I was impressed by this team. Smith is special. Heck, Judkins in special. OSU could lose 5-6 top players and still be a favorite to win it all this year. Day has built a team with one heck of insurance back up system. Kudo's to OSU getting Kelly and Day back together - the dymanic duo.

The michael pennix pick makes all kinds of sense if you think about it... Look at what happened to justin field When he was forced into a situation he wasn't ready for.. The atlanta team could be eroded by the time cousins is done. You can't choose between upgrading the team and the quarterback... Now you'll have a ready made quarterback while still upgrading the team when he's ready.. Look at green bay and tell me how waiting Has hurt them two times now

Compare the Colorado targeting call, and you'll see what the difference is..the impact to head and neck of player. The rule should only be used on defenseless players and intentional launching. I hope that ref lost big money on the game.. And takes that penalty right in his face
