I really love Buck Owens.His brilliant music will pass the test of time. His excellent singing and fantastic playing entertained dozens of people everywhere. His pale, droopy and horse-like face endeared him to all of the ladies and to about 5% of the men. A brilliant musician and hack who will be sorely missed. R.I.P Buck.

@jlmikeals92362 жыл бұрын
@Willie Carter That is Don singing harmony. Hee Haw was a great show, but very few people ever sang live. It was most always voice over since every season was filmed in a studio over a two week period. There were a few exceptions, but I don't believe this was one. If a supposedly live performance sounds like the record. Then it's a recording. The studio versions are made with session musicians. The band can rarely recreate the quality of the original recording.

@jimwest65712 жыл бұрын
The song was written by a songwriter named HOMER JOY who had been called to Bakersfield to record some music at Buck's recording studio in 1972. When he arrived he was delayed for several days to get into the studio by some last minute priority recordings from Bucks band the Buckaroo's....Well Homer kept getting frustrated because he was delayed several days. He stayed in a cheap motel nearby the studio and would walk back and forth each day. Finally, he got frustrated enough to sit down and WRITE Streets of Bakersfield, claiming "You don't know me but you don't like me".. as part of his frustrated lyric. It hit #1 with Buck and Dwight Yoakam in 1988 and sold over a million copies. Later Homer Joy would ENJOY a BIG PAYDAY in royalty money for writing the song. I know all of this because I worked for Buck Owens at his one time Phoenix country radio station.

@@Joy-of-collecting Buddy (Alan) Owens charted about 20 songs in the late 60's into the 1970's on Capitol records. He sang a duet with Buck called "Let the World Keep On A-turnin" that hit #7 on the charts in 1967.
