Buckie to Portknockie, via Portessie & Findochty

Back to Portknockie after shopping in Buckie. Look at this lovely weather, great for a slow drive home. So glad that not too many people know about the splendid circumstances to have a holiday in Scotland: they would all decide to come. And that would be just too busy. No, let them think Scotland is rain, sleat, fog, mist etc.

Was working as a international chef in Malabo Equaterial Guinea West Africa on the Jade platform 43 miles off the island ok Bioki and catching the shuttle helicopter back to the island. A Slochie loon climbed on board 3000 miles from the Sloch Portessie Keith Temple who I had not seen from Buckie High School Days what a moment .

Moved up here two years ago from the central belt , scenery and beaches are superb. Thats as far as it goes though , winter comes quicker and stays far longer up here. Winter winds last at least 6 months and the place is deserted because folk have to stay indoors. Selling up and moving back down soon.

Back in the 50's I remember the local folk would pronounce Buckie as"Buck-aye" and Findochty as"Finechtie"...I wonder if this has changed over the years.

Hi Alan! Thanks for the reaction. I hope one of the locals can help you with that, I am dutch and, in Scotland, I can only hope they understand what I am saying, let alone that I know about the local dialect. But you could still be very right with this!
