I'm forever indebted to this man for introducing me to the Cuboctahedron (shape of vector equilibrium) and this is an easy to follow explanation. The 'PROBLEM' is: He didn't show it ALL (here)! That's what happens when you compress the triangular faces together. Guess what happens when you do the same for the square faces? You get a 'pumping cube'! the 4 points of the square equator rotate 90 degrees and the triangles diminish to zero making a smaller 1 volume cube! rotating through 90 degrees the top square face collapses the cube to a square. reversing the rotation for half of the procedure returns first the cube and then the vector equilibrium. What is most stunning is that you can go from a flat triangle to a flat cube in 5 steps! (6 different arrangements). 10 steps returns to either the square from a square as starting shape or a triangle in the example he half-shows here. 3 D vector equilibrium 'collapses' triangular faces into 2D triangles in 3 steps while it collapses square faces into squares in just 2. The square face is a lower energy state than the triangular, in that it takes less energy to collapse and all 6 faces are closer to the centre or origin point of everything described. VE has 4 'states' the highest being the 12 vertices 'level', next the 24 side 'level', then the triangular face 'level and finally the square face 'level.

@MrAuswest, very interesting. How many different arrangements and steps in total in what you are describing?

Have you found/ made a video where we can see the different shapes being made? Or maybe there's a place I can buy a smaller version of the device Buckminster Fuller used in this video.

@@catroommate1482 Hmmmm.... For something that pretty much represents THE most basic functional model of what is at the core of everything in the Universe, you'd think there'd be readily obtainable models like Bucky's - wouldn't you??? I didn't find one, so I'm going to make them myself and sell them on-line! In the meantime you can make a rougher version just from cardboard and string and sticky tape: Get six squares of cardboard ,about 4-5 inches wide. Sticky tape 2 small pieces of string to 2 of the the diagonal corners of each square overhanging the square by the same distance they stick to it. Then stick the unstuck bits to the 'empty' corners of each square. When you have done it right you should have 6 squares joined at diagonal corners to each other like diamonds on the sides of a large cube. If you lift the model and place one square on a flat surface and hold the top square by lowering it it should rotate and compress into a complete cube. You can make it's compliment by making 8 triangles the same side length as the cubes and joining the corners in a similar way the cube. Holding the top triangle horizontally with the bottom one on a flat surface and lowering the top collapses and rotates into an octagon and then into a tetrahedron and then a triangle. Keep an eye out on my videos for details of how to get the proper model when i've madea few for sale! 🙂

The vector equilibrium is the ultimate symbol of perfection and the perfect representation of what the vaccum was like "before" the Bigbang. "Existence" is what happens when the vector equilibrium breaks symmetry

It goes beyond just the vacuum, The vector equilibrium is the intrinsic fundamental structor of all things. Polarization is present outside the center, creating a dipole!

@@hexagonmagnetics569 I think of the relationship between the vector equilibrim and the universe/existence as being analogous to the relationship between the eye of a storm and the storm itself. The vector equilibrium is the immovable object of absolute perfection at the center of it all and everything else is the unstoppable force that only exists as a result of the vector equilibrium *CONSTANTLY* breaking symmetry. In other words "Nothing" is in a constant process of breaking symmetry which is what's creating "Everything."

Each segment represents a force vector (Electrical Force, Magnetic Force, Gravitational Force etc.) From each point (node) there are symmetrical equal opposite segments. The segment can be a push force or a traction force, this is not important because they are equal and symmetrical and therefore cancel each other out. So the geometry where all nodes in 3D space can be subjected to equilibrium is the Vector Equilibrium shape. The 12 points of equilibrium arrount the central point (the 13° point)
