On my 2nd Bass Cat PII, I call it the Pocket Rocket! I can keep up with most 20 footers with 250's all day. My 21 is simply an outstanding boat. I constantly hear gripes about the cost of new boats, Not all of us need 5 12" graphs, and all the other stuff the pro's use. Big difference between want and need. If you stick with what you need you may even have some money to fish.

@@JohnCrews Thanks! I ordered mine with a Bravo FS 25P, but always buy a second and different prop. Waiting to see my numbers after break in. I carry very little in the front compartments, and have down sized to one graph, so I am hoping I get good natural bow lift.

Glad it helped! Best advise right now is to talk to our sales team or another good dealer near you and see about getting one on order. We are a very large dealership and aren't getting boats in for stock. They're all sold before they get here.

If you're shopping for new, you should be struggling to find much of any boat. Most boats are coming in pre-sold and don't ever make it to the internet. Best advice is to work with our Sales Team or your local dealer to see about reserving exactly what you want. Good luck though!

great information. I am considering a BC. Looking at a Pantera Classic. You state it is wider than the P2 but specs say 90" beam for the classic and 93 on the P2. Still a terrific review and just what I needed.

The Pantera Classic carries the beam further forward than the P2. Makes the front deck on the classic a good bit bigger than the P2. “I think” this explains why the P2 is slightly quicker and more nimble than the Classic.

John, can a talon be installed on a Pantera 2 Special on the port side that has the ladder? Or, does the ladder have to be removed?

I believe the Talon (or Power Pole) bracket is mounted to the jack plate so it should be clear of the ladder.

Interesting he says Pantera classic not that fast when people all the time that own them say they get 72-74 with a good set-up and I've heard that guy's flashing 200 sho's getting crazy fast

Thanks for the comment. He seemed to be mainly focused on it not being as sporty as the Pantera II. As for flashed stuff, that's a hard comparison discussion to have given all the other variables that are likely at play. Any Bass Cats seem to be pretty fast when generally compared to similar boats of other brands.
