I think what made the Seven experience the worst, other than him being unnecessary and not funny, was the way Peggy was fawning over him constantly. This was at the expense of Kelly and Bud. Her fawning was not funny or interesting, and it just twisted the knife of the Seven experience even more. Christina Applegate was always gorgeous in the entire run of the show, but here she was at the peak of her beauty.

Peggy always fed herself so feeding Seven wouldn't have broken things alone since he is Wanker family of course Peggy treats him better, just like her mom and dad get treated better. It was a combination of being too much fawning, since wanker family antics were a once a season thing, now every episode... and the kid himself wasn't funny, just annoying. Bud and Kelly were funny as kids, Seven feels like the producer's kid being forced into a show.

I hate to say it but I recall around this decade, lots of perfectly good movies and shows were often ruined by inserted child actors where they were not needed. It’s not the child’s fault. But a lot of young children often ruin scripts that are meant to be adult in nature. A general rule of thumb I felt with 80s-90s media was If there is going to be a kid under 10 in a movie that’s not about kids... I always knew it would be a bad movie or show to watch. Always too much emphasis on the kid or trying to make them cool or funny which never worked. Married with Children focused on adult jokes. The target audience couldnt really care about “cute kids”, if anything they are an eye sore for the viewer demographic. Again not blaming the kid as I’m sure when you’re that young, you are still learning and wouldn’t know any better about your audience. But the casting directors should have known better, considering why and how Married with Children got popular in the first place. Namely the focus being on Al Bundy and his adult dry humor.

Having Seven was the "Oliver" move from The Brady Bunch. He's supposed to be younger, cuter and funny now that everyone else was getting older. What they should have done was given Marcy a long vacation and have someone like her niece Amber take over the neighbor's house. Have Bud still sort of dating her and learn about relationships from the hand of the master, like the early seasons were like with the Rhodes. Continuing those family lines is how they've kept soaps alive forever. Amanda Bearse was directing most of the late season episodes and Marcy was coming out too much of a radical feminist. This show's core was Al and his hijinks. Marcy was just there for the cheap laughs and not equal storylines.

How was Marcy a "radical feminist"? Because she reacted negatively to Al's hate group (No Ma'am)? Sure, Marcy retaliated with FANG, but that was in response to Al's misogyny. If anything, it's Al who is a radical extremist. Unfortunately, most MwC fans never cross-examine Al's character; they just give all his short-comings a free pass while being extremely judgmental to all his opponents. Pure bias favoritism; but I get it, Al is the protagonist and the lead character we, the audience, are meant to root for.
