We're glad you enjoyed it! We visited the baths very early in the morning (around 7am) because we had to catch a train to Vienna around noon so we wanted to spend as much time at the baths as we could before leaving Budapest. Going early was fantastic because there really weren't many people there at all. Even by the time we were leaving the baths in the late morning, there still weren't many people there. Thanks for watching!

Hi very interesting video. Was it too cold in December? I see it is not snowy or frosty

It was pretty cold in December, but not too bad (but we're from Minnesota, so we're used to cold weather). We were very comfortable with winter coats, gloves, and scarves. Layers are your friend because it can be windy at times. There wasn't much snow while we were there, but it did rain a lot, so we definitely recommend packing an umbrella or raincoat. Thanks for watching!

Thank for sharing your experience!! New to the channel and have been researching Vienna/Bratislava/Budapest trip for this year's Christmas Markets. Curious to pick your brain since you've done something similar to this...should we fly into Budapest or Vienna? If we fly to Vienna, thinking of taking the train right away to Budapest, arriving late afternoon and staying the night and heading back to Vienna early evening the next day. Then staying in Vienna for 2 days before taking a day trip to Bratislava, finishing up in Vienna for the rest of our 6 night Christmas Market vacation. So night 1 Budapest 5, then 5 nights in Vienna with a day trip to Bratislava, thoughts? Thanks for any feedback

It sounds like you're thinking of flying into and out of the same European city? With such a short amount of time, you might want to consider flying into one city and leaving from a different city. You'll save yourself at least one train ride (and several hours), and give yourself more time to experience the beautiful cities you're visiting. With only 6 nights, it can be hard to fit everything you want to see and do into your trip. If you really love Christmas markets, Vienna is definitely the city for you because they usually have around 20 or more different markets scattered all around the city! So, if Christmas markets are your main focus, it might actually be better to skip Budapest and stay the entire time in Vienna, with a day trip to Bratislava somewhere in the middle. And if you end up getting bored of Vienna for that amount of time, you could throw in another day trip to a different city like Salzburg (but only if you're up for a long train ride - if not, maybe pick a closer city). If you don't care too much about Christmas markets in Vienna, or if you're really wanting to visit Budapest, then we definitely recommend spending at least 2 nights in Budapest. There's a lot to see and do in Budapest and you'll want to have at least one full day to explore the city without worrying about where to store your luggage or when your train will arrive. Plus then you could have time to see one of the fun cultural sights like parliament, Matthias Church, the Great Market Hall, or visit one of the many thermal baths. If it were us, we would probably fly into Vienna and spend 4 nights in the city, with a day trip to Bratislava. Then we'd take the train to Budapest and spend 2 nights there. At the end of our whirlwind trip, we would absolutely relax in one of the thermal baths in Budapest before flying home. Hope this gives you some ideas for your trip - planning is one of the hardest parts! Once you figure out an itinerary that you're happy with, you're sure to have a fantastic trip! Thanks for watching and happy travels!
