Also you know, the whole being a former human and severing himself from desire including divinity. One can be said to be arrogant if he places his own perception of reality, his own consciousness above others looking down on others, disregarding them, in condescending way instead of empathizing and understanding. It Doesnt matter a bit if you have the might to manifest your will and overpower others. Its still arrogance. Poseidon was arrogant, cause he was determined to not appear weak or below anyone and made sure the other gods knew this, he literally attempted to kill his younger brother, because he wouldn't join an alliance against Zeus, because the very notion of needing an alliance, would male him look weak.

He isn't, it's that he's standing up to the gods, who are bullies in this, and the gods consider him arrogant for even doing so, because they're arrogant in the first place. Buddha here acts pretty accurately to the text, despite his design lol. His design is meant to mislead the viewer.

As a Christian, I'm always pissed with how stuck up modern religions are with having fun. Hindus are exactly the same where if you take any material from their text and change it up in any way, they call it blasphemous and demand it taken down.
