I am a Christian but I really like Buddhism and respect Buddha especially for teaching such good practices before our Lord and savior came to pay the ultimate price for our sins.

@@lianneotan He definitely did my friend we have hundreds of eye witnesses and manuscripts that prove he did people are just to blind to believe it, Buddha didn’t pay anything for anyone and there is no salvation with him it makes no sense for there not to be a higher power that created everything in this world it only makes sense to believe. Find the truth, before its too late my friend.

Buddhism is not just a philosophy .It is the reality of life. Buddhism describes the rebirth of man according to "Karma" and the consequences of his actions. According to the Buddha's philosophy, those who have shaped their lives well will get good results in this world as well as in the hereafter. I see the birth of a Buddhist family as my greatest blessing. From Sri Lanka.🇱🇰🇱🇰☸️

Also, it may be something your mind body complex resonates with, the energy this chant generates, from previous births. It talks about cause and effect of conditions and the existential suffering inherent in attachment to mental contents, dhammas, and how the release from this suffering can be found by practice and understanding the cause and effect t realms generate in the heart.

So good to be able to listen to this online on Vesak Day here in New Orleans where there’s no Theravada Buddhist temple. I was in Sri Lanka from 2000-2010, as an English teacher and a volunteer for Sarvodaya, and I was fortunate to be able to learn about Buddhism there; to visit most of the important temples around the island; and participate in many ceremonies and festivals. The teachings are badly needed now in the U.S., with all the anger and mental health issues and social problems, as well as all the problems with alcohol, drugs, and other intoxicants.

Remember 2 things Budha ji taught. 1. Dukha and 2. Nibhana. Dukha is caused by sufferings that causes sadness. Accept sadness in wholesome way. 2. Nibhana is ultimate happiness. Enjoy it. Don't get caught up with Dukha in negative way. Always forgive yourself and others. In essence you want to live wholesome life. Teaching of Teacher Buddha.

Beginning was blessings to the Buddha and Dhamma. At the end it was the Metta Sutta. Before that the Paticcasamuppada: dependent origination in order of appearance and in order of ceasing. Here's appearance: 1. Avijiā-paccayā sankhārā: "Through ignorance are conditioned the sankhāras," i.e. the rebirth-producing volitions (cetanā), or 'karma-formations' . 2. Sankhāra-paccayā viññānam: "Through the karma-formations (in the past life) is conditioned consciousness (in the present life)." 3. Viññāna-paccayā nāma-rūpam: "Through consciousness are conditioned the mental and physical phenomena (nāma-rūpa)," i.e. that which makes up our so-called individual existence. 4. Nāma-rūpa-paccayā salāyatanam: "Through the mental and physical phenomena are conditioned the 6 bases," i.e. the 5 physical sense-organs, and consciousness as the sixth. 5. Salāyatana-paccayā phasso: "Through the six bases is conditioned the (sensorial mental) impression." 6. Phassa-paccayā vedanā: "Through the impression is conditioned feeling." 7. Vedanā-paccayā tanhā: "Through feeling is conditioned craving." 8. Tanhā-paccayā upādānam: "Through craving is conditioned clinging." 9. Upādāna-paccayā bhavo: "Through clinging is conditioned the process of becoming," consisting in the active and the passive life process, i.e. the rebirth-producing karma-process (kamma-bhava) and, as its result, the rebirth-process (upapatti-bhava). 10. Bhava-paccayā jāti: "Through the (rebirth-producing karma-) process of becoming is conditioned rebirth." 11. Jāti-paccayā jarāmaranam, etc.: "Through rebirth are conditioned old age and death (sorrow, lamentation, pain, grief and despair). Thus arises this whole mass of suffering again in the future." Metta Sutta: Karaṇīyam-attha-kusalena, yantaṃ santaṃ padaṃ abhisamecca, This is what should be done by one who is skilled in goodness and who knows the path of peace: Sakko ujū ca suhujū ca, suvaco cassa mudu anatimānī, Let them be able and upright, straightforward and gentle in speech, humble and not conceited, Santussako ca, subharo ca, appakicco ca, sallahuka-vutti, Contented and easily satisfied, unburdened with duties and frugal in their ways. Santindriyo ca, nipako ca, appagabbho, kulesu ananugiddho. Peaceful and calm, and wise and skillful, not proud and demanding in nature. Na ca khuddaṃ samācare kiñci, yena viññū pare upavadeyyuṃ. Let them not do the slightest thing that the wise would later reprove, Sukhino vā khemino hontu, sabbe sattā bhavantu sukhitattā. Wishing: In gladness and in safety, may all beings be at ease. Ye keci pāṇa-bhūtatthi, tasā vā, thāvarā vā, anavasesā, Whatever living beings there may be, whether they are weak or strong, omitting none, Dīghā vā ye mahantā vā, majjhimā rassakā aṇuka-thūlā, The great or the mighty, medium, short, or small, Diṭṭhā vā ye ca adiṭṭhā, ye ca dūre vasanti avidūre, The seen and the unseen, those living near and far away, Bhūtā vā, sambhavesī vā, sabbe sattā bhavantu sukhitattā. Those born and to be born, may all beings be at ease. Na paro paraṃ nikubbetha, nātimaññetha katthaci naṃ kiñci, Let none deceive another or despise any being in any state. Byārosanā paṭīgha-saññā, nāññam-aññassa dukkham-iccheyya. Let none through anger or ill-will wish harm upon another. Mātā yathā niyaṃ puttaṃ, āyusā eka-puttam-anurakkhe, Even as a mother protects with her life her child, her only child, Evam-pi sabba-bhūtesu, māna-sambhāvaye aparimāṇaṃ. So with a boundless heart should one cherish all living beings, Mettañca sabba-lokasmiṃ, māna-sambhāvaye aparimāṇaṃ, Radiating kindness over the entire world: spreading upwards to the skies Uddhaṃ adho ca tiriyañca, asambādhaṃ averaṃ asapattaṃ. and downwards to the depths, outwards and unbounded, freed from hatred and ill-will. Tiṭṭhañ’caraṃ nisinno vā, sayāno vā, yāvatassa vigatam-iddho, Whether standing or walking, seated or lying down, free from drowsiness, Etaṃ satiṃ adhiṭṭheyya. Brahmam-etaṃ vihāraṃ idham-āhu. One should sustain this recollection. This is said to be the sublime abiding. Diṭṭhiñca anupagamma, sīlavā dassanena sampanno, By not holding to fixed views, the pure-hearted one, having clarity of vision, Kāmesu vineyya gedhaṃ, Na hi jātu gabbha-seyyaṃ punaretīti. Being freed from all sense-desires, is not born again into this world.
