They say you gotta live the blues to play 'em, and Buddy's lived 'em. He's a natural born entertainer speaking his truth from the depths of his soul, and it resonates in the depths of our hearts. Play on Buddy!

I saw Buddy and Band 20 some years ago in Melbourne. What a LEGEND - he is still playing his heart out. F... awesome. I cried tears of joy listening to his playing, it was so beautiful, soulful, gut-wrenching - and wow, I can't describe. Visceral, ethereal .... Thx for posting... :)

At Ben and Jerrys rock festival Sugarbush VT (some 30 years back!) they had a kids play area near the stage. Our boy was up there and so we came up too - Buddy walked right up in the middle of this song (jam) and let our son strum the guitar! That was Peak Buddy!

@jeffyoder8105 Жыл бұрын
Hey drone flyers you made one mistake in your comments implying that Bonnie Raitt is a mid level slide guitar player, why do you think all the old school blues masters occasionally ask her to guest star at their concerts and it's not cause she's a mid-level guitar player

Buddy's shirt is almost as beautiful as the man himself. I've seen him twice, the second time was at a blues festival - he put on a killer of a show! Buddy and Dick Dale are the two most intense and loudest/baddest strat players I have witnessed live. On that note, I love how BG just rides the guitar volume to get sweet soul filled quieter passages and turns all the way up to crash the audience with a wipe out of sonic bliss.

Saw Buddy Guy live with Santana and BB King in 1992. buddy came right up to my brother and I in the grass section on the lawn. he wailed on that guitar, he had women screaming all around him, I remember this one white woman walked up to him and screamed buddy! And as he played that guitar she wiped the sweat off his brow, and he said thank you baby! Then slowly jammed his way back up stage the crowd following him. Then my brother turned to me and started screaming buddy f****** guy!! Came right up to us and played the guitar! For the next 10 minutes in my face LOL

You look at the coment someone left under me and he felt the same way. During the song Buddy was trying to get the audiance to sing along and the crowd was dead. I'm sure they liked the show but i know from being a musician for years playing out for over 30 years when a crowd responds loud it gives a great feeling. But when they look dead and just give soft golf claps i would rather being doing something else even if the money was good.

is that tony Z on organ? Ive only seen him in a couple photos along time ago- sort of looks like it and definately sounds like it. I have seen buddy a number of times since the early 80s and saw him with jr wells twice. My business partner hung out with him before a show about 10 years ago and he wanted to talk about his garden at home- particularly about tomatoes - the album he did with jimbo mathis Sweet Tea is so heavy and groove oriented its sick. Feels like rain is brilliant HA!
