Just got the Buddy Guy one and the one difference I found with it is that it can handle larger amounts of gain. No volume loss at all...seems to me like a more versatile, superior version of the Zakk wylde wah.

I actually like both. The BG's got some grit to it, and the D Cry has a great smooth transisiton between the low and high in the frequency. They've both got their unique feel ot them.

I have the Buddy Guy pedal and have gone through a few others but the BG always wins. I'll kick off any pedal that gets beaten off my board, but the BG is still hanging on... the only that that has done that out of all of my pedals.

I have the buddy guy wah and love it but one thing hard to get used to and i wish someone could tell me how to swap it around but the light is always on then turns off when you engage vs. most pedals don't light up till you turn it on!

I recommend the cry baby classic if you want simple or the 535Q if you like to tweak. Best wahs ever made

i have the gcb-95 that i got at guitar center 9 years ago and it sounds fine. but this buddy guy wah has a thicker sound to it.

I'm having trouble with my pedalboard, i power them with the vodoo lab pedal power 2 plus, I plug pedals in inputs: 1,2,3,4,5: (strymon flint), but if i try to power the cry baby with 6, 7, or 8 it doesn't work. Help me please!

I like Cry Babys but I'm not crazy about how nasal the the standard GCB-95 sounds in the toe full down position. The Buddy Guy signature wah, in one position anyway, doesn't get as nasal when you push the toe end down.

I hear they sound different, I do! One could be better for one thing and one for another...kind of different voices. The standard sounds more " Hendrix " to my ears, a bit more voice-y, the " BG " has a lot of other groovy sounds coming on, perhaps a bit mushy in it´s overall sound. I am not trying to put anything down...everything can be found a voice for in music; but I do not want to say something that I do not think or mean. I rather have both, then I will have options, questions is can afford to have everything.

Very similar when not in BG mode, but kick it in and the difference is audible even on the net. Nice highs, not harsh at all. Good demo, and I agree with the earlier post, snakeskin pedals. Can you paint a Luther with a snakeskin? That would be cool. And what brand of Pythons are those, Tony Lama? Justin? what?

@guitar4life9 Check out Zakk Wyldes, just be careful, the metal isn't as thick and heavy duty as the other wahs, or atleast the standard and 535q. Which doesn't make sense to me, considering viking god Zakk Wylde uses it, mine broke the day after i bought it:(

owns the buddy guy ...... awesome when used with my strat or tele through the fender bassman ... when used with my les paul through my marshall or ulbrick with overdrive / grunt pedal .. not so much ... still cool .. but found my old dunlop works best when "pushed" in heavy rock setting .. Buddy guy is best in a blues / stripped back setting T

Actually, to me, there is a difference. You get more of a Crybaby-ish wah/whack-whacka sound out of the BG signature wah than you do the present Crybaby.

The standard Crybaby is way crisper and has richer harmonics. The BG is way darker and has a lower filter sweep.
