@georgepoth83394 жыл бұрын
His song “Heartbeat” was released on November 5, 1958. He says in the interview that (starting at 1:48) “The last night of this tour is three nights from tonight in Richmond”. Buddy did two shows in Richmond on October 19, 1958. So the day of the interview was Thursday, October 16, right? And that means that it was exactly 110 days before his death, or 3 months, 2 weeks, and 4 days.

For a high school kid, Ronnie King did a nice interview. Today's "journalists" always ask long, rambling questions that funnel the subject into a predetermined angle instead of letting them say whatever comes to mind.

He looks so handsome in this picture. His voice and laugh, no wonder it was love at first sight for Maria Elena.

Buddy Holly was the OG of rock and roll in the 50s Elvis was more of a singer and mainstream but Buddy was doing proto punk rock. But at 22 you barely know anything just imagine if Buddy had lived to see the 60s cause I know he was wild anyways, poor guy.

It's funny that he says he doesn't like jazz because he went on to do those very jazzy songs with the orchestra

This was 3 months before he died, so he didn't go on to do anything musically unfortunately. The orchestra stuff was done at Decca and Buddy didnt like the sound at all of it and left Decca to get more of a rock n roll sound.

@@ActivateBeastMode1 yeah I know he didn't really like it, it's just funny he did it. Also he did do something musically after the orchestra, the Apartment Tapes, which show a return to rock n roll.

Maybe it grew on him.And a lot of jazzers back then were rebels like the rockers

Reminiscing springs to mind, with King Curtis on sax. Sounds very much like jazz to me.
