I've had the joy of being at a buddy wassisname show from way back when he was just going by kevin blackmore and perfumed for us when he was a one man entertainer and I was 13 at the newfoundland winter games,and several shows afterwhen the group was together even the 25 year anniversary tour was just as great if not better. We newfie's know humor,so much talent comes from the rock.So proud to be a Newfoundlander we have more than proved that while we live a simpler life we are brilliant minded with big open hearts who follow the golden rule.We have a lot of creative terms for things some came from England or Ireland but a lot was created by us.There is no one like us .we have our own unique culture,this is why so many newfs go away to work and never feel content again missing the rock so bad.Watching buddywasisname humor and songs is my way of connecting with and feeling close to home.

@xDilutedx sorry to say this bud...but no-one cares for your opinion here, especially in a buddy wasisname comment page, besides, BC has a higher crime rate then NF, and all those points about BC you mentioned are in NF as well, but thankfully, i dont live near you, and no, unlike you, i havent been all around canada, because im not 18 yet, but head these words well, when i am, ill do exactly as u did and go around canada....and prove you wrong.

Maybe you'd be surprised to think that it's not all about employment. Newfoundland is a beautiful place. I lived there until I was 10, which isn't long, but I loved my home town. The nature around there was amazing as well, and the air quality is something which you won't find in very many other places. So what if there aren't many jobs and not much money? Some things are simpler than that. But you have your opinion and you're welcome to it, so I won't give you a thumbs down.

Free schooling? does that include Collage and University level education? I doubt that. And if its a great as you say it is, How come young people have to move away from there? Couldnt they just stay where they are if there were good Jobs? The problem in NL is not the lack of Education. The Goverment of Canada simply Has not been as helpful to NL as it has to other provinces.

I read a few comments and i just had to say something. I don't care what the ratio's or any of that says, Newfoundland is by far the most peaceful place I've ever lived. Oh and by the way I have lived in fort mac before so don't say I don't know. and diluted, do you really think 508,270 people live in NL ? come on now why don't you go do some research from this year not the 20th century.

ive been all over newfoundland since i live there still for 22 years standing id rather live in this place than some mainland craphole like the states where tornadoes, earthquakes, typhoons and other natural disasters are a regular occurance. sure the mainland has tons of stuff to do im not doubting that and some places yes i may consider living in, but to me a place with low crime rate with people who you can talk to without pissing them off like this place(nl) is the best place to live.
