I just wanted to add.. as far as the windshield goes. Seals do NOT keep water out. They are purely cosmetic. The urethane holds the integrity of the windshield and keeps water out. The only way you would get a leak is if there was a missed connection in the glue bead or body seam issue. There would be other various reason for a leak. But just an example. Sunroof- same thing with the seal but it does keep debris somewhat out. The reason it would leak is if the drains are clogged and/or cracked. I love watching your videos! Very educational! Hope this helps others 🙂

The great thing about this series is how he shows the bad stuff vs the good stuff. Most other guys just verbally tell you what the bad stuff to avoid is, but you are just left to imagine what that stuff is supposed to look like. We have practical examples here.

we can see very clearly the difference between a caring owner of the bmw, and not so caring owner of the highlander, bmw owner took good care and made sure the dings and chips of pain wont cause it to rust, even if it had some minor issues, they've been atleast patched up and not left to cause even more damage.

1:00 actually it is super common for the hood and front bumper to be a little misaligned on these cars. There is not a ton of adjustment you can do to the hood and you have to remove and reinstall the front bumper if you want it to fit better. The rest of the seams should all be pretty good though, it seems to mostly be that front bumper that is a little wonky on most of them.

Hey Buddy, I am following along your 4 part inspection video series, and find it quiet helpful and easy to understand, as a non mechanical person. I cannot find part 4 of the series ? But in any case the knowledge I have gained from the first three videos has been quite helpful. 45 mins into the used car inspection I was carrying out today on a possible purchase, the sellers anger and irritation, and his pressure on me to hurry up ! was such that we parted ways after 45 mins into a likely two hour inspection I was determined to carry out, between checking the vehicle and paperwork, and test drive. But in that time, thanks to your comprehensive videos I noted blue smoke , on accerlation, from the exhaust, never a good sign ! alignments, spring, suspension issue on one front tyre, engine warning light not extinguishing. After a look underneath, an exhaust system that was corroded, a rusted hole in the petrol tank ! 'Its only £1500 pounds, what do you expect, he exclaimed', . That's a lot of money to me, along with a possible tax of £700, co2 emission's !, insurance, £ 400, repairs bills another £1500, so quiet a lot actually. So I appreciate your knowledge, and keep up the good work.

Does hand held machines for CODE READING tell specific engine motor problems or even transmission problems? Or is that only able to be diagnosed when a mechanic opens up the engine?
@lesterparker15943 жыл бұрын
If you get a cheap one it’s usually not very specific. However, you can usually google the code it gives you and get much more info. You can find what issues usually throw that code and find some fixes that helped other people. Hope this helps

The stuff in the video doesn't really matter, so what if it has rock chips, or a little bit of rust, you can fix that for cheap. I'll say firstly you want to inspect the person selling the car, if it is the owner of it and had it for a long period of time or a reseller. If its the first I'll ask if/when it changed the timing belt/chain on the car and if it has a service history of the oil changes. That's the main causes of engine failure...

@BuddysDIY3 жыл бұрын
So it's just a little smoke it's probably condensation. That's not big deal. Not if it's a decent cloud then it could be a head gasket failing. A little smoke upon start is okay. If it's constant then that's no bueno. Of course when it's cold out there will be a constant stream of smoke and that's okay. But I'm sure it's just condensation in your case.
