Now retired, but after 40 years of being a letter carrier, I can truly say that I had nothing but pleasant encounters with Golden Retrievers, Yellow and Black Labs, St Bernards, and Old English Sheepdogs. Loved them all.

You were lucky! A black lab tore my 70+ farm-raised mother apart. 650 stiches to close up her face and massive injuries to her stomach. She had gone over to place a newspaper on a new neighbor's doorstep. I still get angry when people are incredulous that it was a lab. A farm girl at heart she got over it, I never did.

@@jeffduncan9140 You've allowed your puppy dog to do that. Dogs are geniuses compared to cats. Dogs learn quickly what the word "no" means, and they want to please the head of their pack. Cats either never learn what "no" means, or they just don't give a rat's ass. They do whatever they want. Dogs run in packs, cats scatter wildly.
