I stayed for a week there in about 1999. I seem to remember the weather was fantastic, and after the daily walk around the place, I would get pissed on cider in a couple of pubs near the front. Cant remember the names. I was on my own, got talking to some nice locals, had a drink regularly with one of them while I was there. Happy days.

When I was ten years old in the Wolf Cubs we used to take the younger Cubs up on the cliffs in the summertime on schemes. Mr Birch was the Akela,and John Parkhouse was Pack Leader. Nobody ever came to any harm,and we always brought the kids home safely. But with today's paranoia it wouldn't be allowed. Kids now have to stay with Mummy all the time,almost as if they were glued to her. Those days were free,and we thought they would never end.

I worked on the Town Council years ago,and things were very different then. We were expected to dress smartly even working outside,and wearing shorts would have had you sent home to change. Council wotkers,postal workers,and drivers look like riffraff these days,dressed as if they just don't care any more. This country is becoming a dump,where self-respect is disappearing,and people just want a good time,as long as someone else is paying.
