WE DO Well , not anymore - we gave it away . Theres HUGE reserves found off the East coast (Corrib / Kinsale and I think 2 more fields ) It hasnt been drilled yet (corrib and kinsale have ). They wont drill it yet , because it would lower the price internationally . Its no riskier than the North Sea. Its more about control than ownership . Statoil are already recieving their share (Norway ) Ill find the link . Itll make your blood boil

You wont find an Irish barrister to do that . Not if he wants to continue practicing . As far as I know , THEY themselves decide their own salary . However , Sinn Fein , and some socialist TDs only take the average industrial wage (out of principal ) And thats the ONLY way to get good government ; to take the wealth and power incentive OUT. Other TDs see politics as a "career" . Sinn Fein and socialists TDs see politics as a duty

Saudi Oil prices have quadrupled ! Saudi and US oil are like siamese twins. The US relies on OPEC countries to sell their oil in dollars . It keeps the dollar strong . Sadaam tried to change to Euros (so they invaded) I reckon that 2030 thing is another scare tactic. Id almost believe that about American oil , because most of the Oil surrounding Afghanistan ( khaz/uzbek/turkm/tajikstan )(4th largest reserves) is now under US military boots

Ah , Ok . Thanks for the info . But , whether theres much of it or not , weve still given whatever might be there to foreign corporations , with no benefit to Ireland . As far as I know , thats un-constitutional. If large reserves were discovered , it would be in their interests NOT to drill . It keeps Saudi oil prices high. Thats why the yanks destroyed Iraqs industry very thoroughly. Now they IMPORT Saudi oil. Saud owns 7% of US economy Eire wont be allowed up-set that

Ah ,, I dont assume that (who does ) I should have said ; "not if they want to keep practicing" . What was the Mary Robinson /EU courts thing ? Im not familiar with that . What I want an answer to , is why did "WE" (lol) give our Oil and Gas reserves away , for Free . Every citizen in Norway is wealthy because they nationalised their oil . We gave ours away (Norway /Statoil got some of it ,we get none) Makes my blood b-oil

It was an awful pun yes. Im wondering why the Oil+Gas reserves isnt a big issue . Its un-constitutional AND illegal . To me its a good cause for revolution. Weve rebelled over less. 64 billion to bail-out the banks. Probably about 6.4 TRILLION from reserves look , you asked about Dail/wages/constitution . I didnt tell you to "go look it up " Am I getting this attitude because I said "he" ?
