VIDEO INTRODUCTION:
On 1 February, 2023, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget of the Modi government to the Lok Sabha.
To explain the budget in a nutshell - Like we do financial planning for businesses or for households, A Union Budget is the financial blueprint for India. It outlines our expected revenue and expenditure for the upcoming fiscal year, (april to march) after getting estimates from every department like railways, defense etc about their predicted expenses, based on the previous year’s performance. Lets understand this!

Well being a CA student, I can testify that tax rebates are definitely beneficial for country coz 1. It gives more discretionary income to lower income class, thereby increasing their purchasing power because of lower taxes. 2. Moreover, when taxes are reduced, the number of people paying taxes increases as is proved by laffer's curve, as when taxes decrease, people are more willing and likely to pay their taxes and not incur tax evasion. Thank You

@@santiyago19 as per old regime, one could only save 5 lakhs, fully exempted from tax, whereas now they'll be able to save 7 lakhs, fully exempted. Old regime, above 10 lacs, there was a straight up 30% tax rebate which never made sense, new regime is split and makes more sense, is more lenient and not confusing as well. Earlier people used to fear income tax, now they'll slowly move towards paying the taxes. Kindly look into the whole thing and then analyse.

@@dezperk1455 i just think govt. wants to provide the common man with cash in hands to be able to buy things, which directly indirectly affects the GST collection, contributing more to the country's economy. This might be done to balance the current global inflation.

@Football-Pundit According to me neutrality is an option that one may have. So by not giving his opinion on the matter he try to broaden our horizon to think rationally. And so if he does give his opinion with an disclaimer no matter how tiny bit it may be it will tilt our opinion on the matter and that is why its better this way.

@Football-Pundit 1st thing, even if you are not open to change it will still happen no matter what you think or do change is must and is bound to happen. You are absolutely wrong by saying that analysis without conclusion is not help full well if you want conclusion you can go out there and can get thousands of them. And if you cannot draw conclusion then that is your problem because not only do he explain the things but also attach the study material along with it. And most important thing that you are missing is that It Is *THINK SCHOOL* means a school to make you think not giving you conclusion. It is for student like me who want to learn and not for people who want criticism and fights between wrong and right. School gives chance to learn and grow which our school do not did and he is doing it and so I appreciate it.

To my knowledge, the government is banking on tax buoyancy. As we know, we are experiencing record GST collection. Hence, the government is expecting higher tax collection to reduce the deficit. From what I've read from experts, their tax collection estimates have been conservative for the past year and hence ended up outperforming expectations. They are expecting the same for this year as well.

It's an awesome to see you explaining complicated concepts in simple language. I would like to point out one key deduction under new tax regime i.e. NPS CCD (2) that is employer's contribution. The amount is 14% for govt employees and 10% for other employees. It can definitely minimize the tax in new regime. It can give competition to the old regime and it has been neglected by almost all youtubers.

Thank you for giving a very good explanation of the Budget. I just have a question on the Housing Loan. Please let me know if the changes in the budget will affect the Housing Loan interest rate considering the increase in Repo Rate from the RBI?

You are really doing an amazing job. I am engineering and that is from IIT Bombay but still I don't know nothing about finance and heavily dependent on my CA. In my opinion finance should be part of curriculum and I am not obviously talking about Engineering Economics. But videos like this one is really helpful.

As an Economics Student, government wants to push the consumption in the new tax regime. They are not giving any mutual fund or investment deduction,thus allowing more income to be consumed. Therefore increasing the aggregate demand and thus looking to increase the output or the GDP. In Economics term, it will be called as Consumption lead-growth. What I could infer from the budget was the fact that government is pushing both Capex and consumption lead growth.

@arpitgarg8455 Im, not an economics student (I'm an engineering student, Yes Im :P ) so I might be wrong, but if the government is increasing the cash (or liquidity) in the market, it results in inflation. bcz demands increase and supply is same. so it is bad for market it will be better if you can clear my doubt
@arpitgarg8455
@arpitgarg8455 Жыл бұрын
@@A__GARV_SAXENA Very good question raised !!! First very basic thing that inflation and growth moves together. That is what government and RBI Wants to achieve. They want to balance growth with steady and moderate inflation rate. Your point is right that increased demand can cause prices of goods to rise but inflation is a monetary phenomenon and controlled by Central Bank RBI which uses money supply and interest rate to vary the money supply. The money supply in this case will be constant as RBI is not increasing the Money supply. The only effect due to this is liquidity effect. The increased liquidity and this will lead to people buying new products and hence this could lead to short term inflationary trends but in long run it will become moderate again as the money supply is constant . If u follow what RBI is doing, today itself they increased the repo rate by 25 basis points and inflation is well under desired 6% and will continue to fall till 5%. I see a very good 10 years for India if everything goes well

Increasing Capex seems to be a great move by GoI. I hope our Country's Economy and its citizens will be benefited from it.

Extremely impressed with your videos and the knowledge you shared. One question that revenue expenditure comprises salaries, wages...etc means employees of gov who are going to use capital expenditure for future revenue generation. I mean to say that both are interconnected and employees are directly responsible for profits produced by capital expenditure. Please correct me if I am wrong..thanks
