Marty - I used to have an L400 series 1 Deli. The superselect system has four modes - 2WD, AWD, 4WDhi, and 4WDlo. The AWD (unlocked center) is for road use only (wet road, snow, good dirt etc). just like the AWD in a subi, evo, or skyline. Once you get into any sort of "off-road" work you should be in 4wd hi (locked). Especially sand, in AWD you will cook your center diff. Loved my Deli, but the series 1 has a better approach angle due to a different front lower bumper. The series 2 looks better..... Way better off road than people give them credit for.

@@nicholascrow8133 interesting. Literally had never heard it until this video. Is it an Aussie thing?
@nicholascrow8133 Жыл бұрын
@@davidbrelsford9100 I'm Aussie, it is a thing here, but I've also heard donut media use it aswell, so i'm not sure where it originates from. Either way is good the main thing is good communication. Left and right can work if the spotter and driver know what left and right means but diver/passenger side, left hand/right hand down or near side/far side (common UK term for driver/passenger side) directly point to a specific side of the vehicle, regardless of perspective. (that is, if the spotter is ahead of the vehicle, inexperienced spotters might call what they see as left, whilst the driver perceives the message as what they see as left, which can lead to a "rubber side up" situation) Again, it doesn't really matter what system you use as long as the spotter and driver are on the same page, but for beginners, using a system that is specific to a side of the vehicle is best, much like how on the water they use port/starboard...

Had my first 4WD adventure this weekend in Colorado, did Yankee Hill and Kingston Peak Road and I have to say you guys hit the nail on the head. The Best 4WD channel on youtube strikes gold again. Can't wait to see the build for the Delica come together. These are such rad little off road camper trucks if people decide to go that route. I keep looking at JDM vans like this and wanting to do a build, but as Marty & Moog stated, it's a fair amount of money to spend if you are going to go bush bashing in it, scratch the paint, rip the bumper off, etc. Currently rolling in an LR3 that cost less than 5k all in, makes it a lot easier to take when you get trail scratches or break something.

Also: I don't care how you sell it, the steak is overcooked. Before I was an EMT, I was a chef. I've cooked steak in every way you can imagine. Including how you've cooked yours here, and setting a pat of seasoned butter on top while it rested...it's still better cooked medium-rare to Medium over a charcoal or wood fire. No comparison. Just some salt 30 minutes before you grill it(salt on both sides), then a hit of pepper after you've grilled it. It's cool that you prefer beef jerky in the form of a steak...but nah. In the hundreds of ways and probably tens of thousands of steaks I've been forced to sample, nothing beats the charcoal grill, high heat sear of a room temp steak that's been salted for 30 mins before I've cooked it.

Hey, an infrared thermometer and a probe thermometer are cheap, small, and light. Take them along for scientific accuracy in cooking those steaks. Heat the cooking surface to 400F/205C to sear, keep it over 300F/149C for enough cooking heat, and turn, turn, turn. Pink all the way through, 138F/59C and you're good. Also fresh cracked pepper takes very little to get the flavor without being burnt. Cracking the peppercorns fresh releases the oils that will infuse into the steak.
