that diagonal pole is a really very good design update, allows for wider opening on both sides. i hope the OEX Rakoon would incorporate that too.

Great to see the videos flying out mate 😊 Tent is bang on for the money. Know and understand its limitations and that'll make someone ( or a couple) a great option 😊 Adge.

Just bought one of these and will be trying out in my parent's back garden at the weekend, as if I was seven years old again rather than fifty four! Next stop Dartmoor for my first ever wild camp... Every review I've seen has rated them well and they are currently going for 80 quid or 90 quid for the "pro" version which seems to have better pegs and poles.

It’s a great bit of kit for the price. Hope the first wildcamp goes well my friend. Thanks for watching

It's a nice looking tent but the one thing I'm not so keen on about this tent and others like it is the way the door zip goes from the top straight down to the pegging point at the front centre, it's a pain in the morning when there's dew and condensation on the tent. I've bought a cheap version of this, the Outsunny Compact 2 and I'm going to modify it with better poles etc but the door zips from the top centre and then around and down to one of the corner pegging points, so much closer to grab when you want to get out.

1:25 It's lovely to see fellow hikers communicate with who ever lives locally. It benefits both. I wish other people didn't feel a need to sneak around, and hide their camp, as it breeds mistrust among one another..

It was great to find common ground and how if done right the locals support what we do. Its a shame we are let down by a few..

Liking the look of that tent a whole lot more than their branded version of the ultralight Lanshan. Nice video and a good look at the new tent, I see they've changed their logo, it looks a whole lot better than the old one. Lovely colours at sunset and rise, that for me is what it's all about - catching mother nature putting on a grand show. TFS GW ATB DVS (gosh, that looks like a secret code! haha)

yeah this is a massive upgrade to the lanshan albeit two totally different tents. Can see this doing well...although ill not be keeping this one I have far too many..cheers for the morse code ATB Steven

Very curious to know how this tent fares in high winds with rain. I've read some reviews claiming wind pushes the fly against the body and results in water wicking in or condensation under the fly. Have also read accounts of the poles breaking in wind as they aren't too sturdy. I want to like it as I want something that goes up and down all at once, fly and all, but doesn't weigh what an Orion or Hilleberg tent weighs.
@NANA-mr2vpАй бұрын
I enjoyed the video, thanks. Some questions.. How would/did it hold up in heavy wind and or rain? It appears the only guy outs are off of the 4 poles; none off the tent body. I've read reviews claiming pole breakage in moderate wind. Also have read of leaking seams. Any of that? The pitch doesn't seem bad though it is a bit loose. Does it tighten up? Again some reviews claim it's quite a sloppy pitch. It appears the bathtub floor doesn't reach very high. Have you encountered splashing in from rain? I've used the Exped Orion several times. It also goes up and down in one unit though the pole/fly arrangement is different. It has though stood up through 50mph wind with rain. My partner's REI tent was blown flat. Unfortunately the Orion is heavy at 7lbs. I'd think being a mesh walled inner it would be pretty chilly in cool weather. What's been your "extended" experience with it?

Wow the drone footage is incredible. Love it up there. The new tent you tested looked good. I have to say i prefer the logo on that one much more than the night cat lightweight back packing tent I was sent. Be interesting in seeing how it fairs in the Cheviot weather 😅. The views from there are stunning aren't they. Northumberland man what a place. Lovely video Stephen.

I know that you're paid to advertise it, but at over £200 for a 2 person tent, is it 'budget'? People new to camping look for 'budget' tents in case they don't take to the sport. Where does 'budget' start and stop? I'm not saying that this 'budget' backpacking tent is not worth £208, I'm merely querying the 'budget' handle. 'Budget' doesn't just mean tents of course, 'budget' equipment for a newcomer, (according to youtube) could easily lighten his/her pocket to the tune of £500. Quite a step into the unknown. A wander around charity shops might provide all that is needed (and only used once) for £100.
@thegeordiewildcamper Жыл бұрын
charity shops are a great place to go! I would say £200 for a tent that can handle some decent conditions is pretty budget. But hey ho each to their own..thanks for watching
