Thanks for all the info! This is exactly what I was looking for to dip my toes in competition shooting. Just ordered everything from the list for $150 and some change!

Nice set up! Thinking about putting the taylor freelance magwell on mine.

Thanks! If you're planning to compete, just be sure it's allowed in the division you're wanting to shoot. Even if it isn't, it's not too difficult to remove, so I wouldn't get hung up on it, but it is worth considering before dropping money on it.

Great review. Does the offset tilt the grip out away from the hip? My blade tech has a drop offset and it tilts the grip slightly away from hip and angles the barrel towards your leg

question - how well does it cover the trigger?

Cigarette lighter on all edges before use will take care of any straggling threads or rough edges

Awesome video - will this holster work with a QLS leg drop setup from safariland ?
@LongTermReviews3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I don't have first hand experience to say for certain. I did shoot Comp-Tac an email to see whether they'll say it's compatible or not, will update on what I find from them. I do know the hole spacing doesn't look like it would line up with my UBL mid mount, but without QLS plates on hand it's hard to know if that matters. If somebody else has tried to do this I hope they'll chime in for the rest of us.

Update: Comp-Tac got back with me. According to them, the International holster should work with the QLS. I can't verify this myself, but thought I'd pass it along. I've included their email text below. "Thank you for reaching out to Comp-Tac. Good news, the International holster has a universal hole pattern and will work with the Safariland QLS system. If you ever get curious about what else works with the International holster - we offer the SQR(Secure Quick Release) System Secure Quick Release (SQR) | Mount Attachment (comp-tac.com)that will also work for what you are looking for." I hope this helps! Best of luck.

Does the Comp-tac holster ever start to pull up and away from your body when you draw?
@LongTermReviews Жыл бұрын
Not that I've noticed, but I have it on a stiff competition belt and don't have the retention gorilla tight. If you ran it on a street belt or with really stiff retention I suppose you could experience that problem. I haven't though.

@@LongTermReviews yeah, I think it was the belt. We ended up using an ALS holster. Very low draw resistance after the lock is released, so it doesn't pull up.

Gotcha. The ALS seems to be the gold standard. Glad it worked out!

@@LongTermReviews I used a GLS which is decent considering it can fit random pistols. I just wouldn't count on it as much if someone is trying to take the pistol. Unlocks too intuitively for that, I think.

The prices you list for the components puts the price of your setup at over $160. You said around $100. Misspoke?
@LongTermReviews3 жыл бұрын
Adding it back up, you're right. If I had a dollar for everytime my brain approximated wrong I'd have at least enough dollars to buy this rig several times over. Thanks for helping me out.
