Dropped and lifted plenty of these, and by far the best way is to re-index your torsions, that way, you don’t get a crappy ride, as your bars are still under the same stress, but just in a different spot in relation to your suspension arms, easiest way, dot punch or paint mark the splines on the front, unwind the bars, pull them out of the arms, move them round ( three splines is a good starting point) and then re tension the torsions, works great every time!

Love the Toyota flatbed! Hearing that fire up reminds me of my '87. A friend's dad was taking it to the crusher and offered it to me for $100. It was a beat up brown base model 22R with a 4 speed, 130k on it, bad tires, bad shocks, no brakes, no exhaust, major oil leak, leaking water pump, weak clutch, weak carb and a rotted off bed from 23 years of Indiana winters, but had a solid frame and a clean title and started everytime and ran like a champ. I put some 14" snow tires on the back, Volvo bucket seats in the cab, cleaned it up like a new penny and rehabbed it mechanically as I went. Had a friend build a custom wood bed for it, and it gave me 5 years of reliable service thru some hard times. That thing was a tank, definitely a Puddin worthy little go-getter. I sold it before a cross country move and was inspired to buy my 1st gen Tacoma SR5 which I still daily 6+ years later. Great work man! Keep 'em comin'! Btw: what did the tire guy do with your original center caps off the front wheels??

You know I'm in time for puddin today! 45 min or so, for thw torsion bars, I have some on my 4x4 blazer, and to lift those, they have extended upper control arms with a slightly different angle for the ball joints. And different keys that go on the torsion bars with a slightly different angle aswell... maybe see if there's something that'll work like that

That's in pretty dang good shape! I've got an 81 that's similar to that except it has a bed LOL. Don't worry about the electronics. When I redid my truck I left it sitting outside for 2 months with no glass in it and no interior and it's fine. Dang Toyota's are just about bulletproof.

You can take black coffee. put in a spray bottle. spray on your rust areas on your Toyota . it will remove the rust and leave a coat like cosmoline. I used it in the US Navy

A way to raise the truck more in the front is to take out the torsion bars in the front where they mount on the lower control arm, cut out the key in the spline and index it. We also put a fab tech 2 inch lift on it with new control arms along with removing the bump stops

You can convert the front end into same dually wheels as rear 87-92 one ton. EZ conversion bolt to ball joints. Same caliper as 84 5 lugs. I have many one-ton Toyota trucks 2 Tow trucks, factory dump truck. a 10" stake dump, couple of flat beds also.

After a yucca tore off my brothers exhaust, we did the same thing to his 62 chevy biscayne even had the rain cap. Later on he used 3/4 oil field sucker rod to make a brush guard w spare tire. Bail wired tags to grill guard

I think this truck was a camper. The style with an overhand above the cab. That's why there is an aluminum sheet to cover the roof and back of the cab. Great video Puddin! Just ordered 2 shirts and 2 stickers!
