In Sohra/Cherrapunji there's also Nongsawlia Church which is probably the oldest church in Northeast India. Welsh missionaries came here in the 1800's and even taught Khasi people how to read and write. The missionaries learned our language and translated some Welsh songs like, "Hen Wlad fy Nhadau" into "Ri Khasi Ri Khasi"

I met Tabi (Tabitha) while visiting there last year and she was the sweetest girl ever! Volunteered to take loads of pic of me and my partner in front that heart. She was even suggesting us poses! Such a gentle and lovely soul. God bless her. Thanks to Frenchy, I got to see her again!❤️

We had gone for a caving experience in Mawmluh Cave with Meghalaya Adventure Association.. it’s one of the most adventurous experiences of our lifetime. 4.7km in 4hr..pheww!! not a single dull moment.. Full of excitement😮

These hills become more lively & greenery during monsoon, winter is dry
you are right. the red mouth and tongue is because of the chewing of betel leaf and betel nut. They have it with a smear of lime. Khasis call the betel nut 'kwai' and the Assamese 'tamul 'and yes it's psychoactive (makes you feel high and dizzy) in nature

Welcome to Meghalaya, Frenchy. Locals call the chewable kwai(stressing the kw). Kwai = beetle nut + beetle leaf with added lime (hence the redness of the teeth and lips) Have a good holiday.
