BUDGET GUITAR AMP SHOOTOUT! Fender 15G Vs Boss Katana Mini Vs Joyo/Fame DC-15/Harley Benton HB-15GXD

These are some of the best cheap guitar amps for the money. Good beginner amps as well as the best practice amps at home. The round up includes the Boss Katana Mini, Fender Frontman 15G and the Joyo DC 15 aka Fame DC 15 aka Harley Benton HB-15GXD JamBox. The best in my view is the last one - it would be nice if in effects would be looper. At least 30 sec. It will be absolutely killer-combo. It can't play from 9V battery - so for busking another external power source is needed.

I just brought a second hand nux mighty air for £70 in uk. Got to say i was blown away and its wireless too and comes with transmitter. When you use it with the mobile app you dont need anything else for home playing. Built in battery last ages if it ever broke think i would get the next one up the mighty space for the more features and effects. You should try one plus its a Bluetooth speaker too

I need to give the NUX Mighty Air a go for sure! NUX products seems to be very good quality. I have the NUX MG 100 pedal which is great for looping and these days it's very cheap and has great FX and amp sims onboard. I also just got a Line 6 Spider II amp... 'cos, well why not!? It's always fun to try new gear and that is much bigger, but a very nice sounding practice amp that has come under a lot of fire over the years... to me it just seems like it got lots of flack because it's a popular and an easy target. Review of that one incoming. @@appetiteforguitar many thanks look forward to your review. I never used nux before but I was totally blown away with the mighty air. It's only the size of my hand so you could take it anywhere. Having a built in battery and being wireless is massive feature. It's good you don't have to spend loads of money for good sounding gear. Keep up the good work just came across your channel and love it. Are you in USA , you sound British but you say pricing in dollars.

Ah, thanks. That means a lot. I'm working hard in the background to produce useful/entertaining content... I've currently got 15 videos planned already and gear and guitars spread everywhere, yikes. I need to get on with it lol. I try to quote in euros/pounds and dollars as much as possible. I'm predominantly in the UK and yes I'm English although someone said I sounded Australian once (?!). I think that's the joys of KZbin, you never know where the audience is going to be. I just got a Les Paul style guitar from the Philippines, it's called an RJ. It's relatively cheap, but just brilliant and blows away any cheap Les Paul type I've played thus far. It feels and looks just like one of the big G's. The difficulty is in actually getting hold of them... I'm deep in research on that one and figuring out where people can actually get their hands on them easily. That's another review incoming.... Oh, I should also add, if you are ever looking for a guitar, another very good one I got recently is the new Epiphone Les Paul Studio. I don't know if I can call it 'cheap' tbh though, but it is value for money (CTS Pots etc). I've done an unboxing, and yes you guessed it... full deep dive review coming up. Yes you can. By the way, I found out since my review it's the same amp as the Harley Benton HB-15GXD, just rebranded.

@@appetiteforguitar OOHH So technically I could connect any pedal (such as analog, digital, etc)?. SORRY FOR BOTHERING AGAIN WITH MY DOUBTS, but I was looking at an orange crush 12 and now I don't know whether to choose the orange crush or the joyo DC 15 as my first amplifier 😭😭😭.

No worries, happy to help how I can. Yes, both amps will accept pedals, digital and analogue. The Orange Crush looks very cool too. The difference is the Joyo has a bunch of onboard FX too. That means you can try out various FX you like, such as chorus, flanger etc on the Joyo and you don't need to buy any pedals. You can have fun with it and find what sounds you like most. A good pedal should give you a bit finer control of the FX as you progress. You would need to add pedals to the Orange Crush to have any FX, so overall it will start costing more from the outset. Both would be great choices. The Joyo is just a bit easier for a beginner to have fun with if u want a bunch of fx straight away. Happy to answer any more questions you have. (the Orange crush looks AMAZING, but with the Joyo I can achieve many sounds) I feel that with this amplifier I will be able to make a sound like Shoegaze (it is a incredible genre of alternative rock that I love. Unfortunately if I want to make a sound similar to that genre it will take me a long time to get them because the effects pedals in Argentina are super expensive. So my best option would be this amp)

That's great! I think you will a lot of fun with the Joyo to get started with Shoegaze music. You could then always still go and get extra pedals for more extreme sounds if you want as you progress.
