Although you did a fantastic job using the mini, my equipment of choice for a little job like this would be the box blade. Scarifiers to rip the entire road and the box to smooth and crown it. May not have needed to add any rock either. Just one man's opinion. Good video, keep them coming.
@idigit49672 жыл бұрын
Hey Doug! Yea I totally agree that would have been a great option too! We have a tractor with a box blade and rippers but we just got the box blade fixed (it had been bent crooked after my dad caught it on a stump a few years back) and I just have never used it and wasn't familiar yet with how to do a driveway with one.

Wow, the original road was packed down pretty hard. I noticed the front of the mini was lifting up at times as you did the scratching. Like you said at the end, it would have been nice to take it all back & use the cloth, however at times you just have to work within the client’s budget. Good job Gavin. Take care & cheers🐨🦘🥰

You did a great job, especially considering your budget. Glad to see you getting jobs like this. You made it look like a million dollars on a budget of $100. Sorry to hear about your Deere, but as Intold you before, you should’ve gotten a Cat.

I’d rip the whole thing with a bunch of passes with my box blade scarifiers down all the way. Lay it back down flat, then top coat it with C&R. Looks good 👍🏼!

Yeah man, that is some kind of skill to get that done inexpensively. Bucket 10/10, and was that your tailgating? Because I could even tell from the shaky shot how buttery smooth that was.

Thanks James! Yeah that was me tailgating! I've gotten pretty good at it over the last few years LOL!

My personal opinion with the equipment you have i probably would've just scratched everything up with the bucket to fluff the driveway up then regraded it with your blade. That would've filled in all the potholes, fluffed the driveway up and you wouldn't have necessarily needed more gravel. Might have taken a bit longer but would've been a savings on the customers end. OH and remember driveways always need a crown to shed water. Like i said just my opinion. Enjoy the videos especially when you branch out and try new things such as this. Keep them coming!
@idigit49672 жыл бұрын
Thanks Josh! That is definitely one way this driveway could have been redone for sure!

To put a crown on that driveway would have really driven the cost through the roof.

@autocompletellc990619 күн бұрын
You can just box blade it and be done with it because box blades rip up holes.
@AnomadAlaska2 жыл бұрын
I would have used a tractor and box blade and crusher run. But that's just because it's all I have a lot of experience with for driveways.

Power rake or box blade with scarifiers would have been a better choice of equipment--probably would not have needed additional gravel.

I CRINGED, the saying "you get what you paid for" comes to mind. thats one way to get repeat customers, not sure if thats good or bad though. the contour of the road surface goes along way to reduce maintenance, just saying.
