Ma'm if we're staying inside auroville, is it easy to explore pondicherry then?? I mean what is the mode of transport that we can get to in and out auroville. As it is 12km from puducherry railway station.

You can very easily get autos which would cost somewhere around 300-500. I haven't explored bus service to Auroville but should be there.

@@Desi_traveltales we were planning to visit pondicherry for 5 days but as per the cost of autos, if we reside inside auroville it will cost every in and out trip around 1000 daily.

Auroville you can visit anytime.... You have to book a visit to Matrimandir through their website or directly from information centre. Although you must book it in advance as the seats get filled

You have valentine hoatel in white town which is around 400 and try woodpecker hostel in aurville. Both are popular.but be aware that aurville is 12 km away from white Town and no bus services are available. You will waste lot of money on transportation. I stayed only once in aurville and to be honest it gave me vibes of South Goa. I just liked stay in some sort of forest area.

@@Desi_traveltales yes I have visited pondicherry several times since it's near to Chennai but stayed only once in aurville and it was great. Even though I had bike there are no good restaurants and had to settle with some small restaurant.
