I love it. Great job. Its amazing how much those little 130 motors can grunt with the right battery.

yes but the armature windings are VERY wimpy as are the contacts riding the commutator.. all prone to burning up quickly.

Can it the 130 motor and board handle 6v 2000maH battery without damaging the stock components?

Yes the 130 can handle 6v fine 😁 7.4 is a tad to much 🙈

Upgrades are a must with the q65 if you want to use it on the trail. Other rigs like the c24-1, mn99 and fayee Fy003-1 are ready to go! And it's the least I can do, if it wasn't for the support of you guys I wouldn't even be able to review trucks for banggood, so it feels right giving back 😊

It's a pretty decent budget upgrade, it's a shame the 180 doesn't directly fit, this is stopping the q65 from being upgraded from the factory like other brands are doing. Its stuck with a 130 😂 Tomely rc has got a 270 2 speed to fit with some trimming.

oh i forgot to say dont try to run stock jjrc q65 electronics on a battery over 6 volts dont ask how i know but i sure had to up grade when i saw the magic smoke lol !
@modelnutty65034 жыл бұрын
yup, same with the 1st edition WPL RTR's, the ESC section can't handle much of anything voltage or current through them to feed the motor, then there was the toy class bang-bang steering that'd pull power away from the drive motor.
@THYC4 жыл бұрын
😂 Yes, karl over at sharkeys rc garage informed me 6v was the limit for the q65 electronics! Stay tuned, an upcoming video shows the 130 motor not getting along with 7.4v 😂🙈

is there any point in me trying to run a 180 motor on stock electronics and a 5.4v i dont mind triming but there are no electronic kits available right now and wondering if its worth doing the motor change and leave electronics?! thanks

A 180 motor will give you more torque so it is worth doing bud 😊

As a complete newb with very little knowledge or experience or tinkering ability what would be the simplest way to give this truck a little more speed or power...I've upgraded to a larger Mah value battery but it makes little to no difference

minor "oops" to fix... (just my opinion), slip the 130 motor out of the #316 type gearbox and swap it into the tan B36 gearbox with its lower gearing, should be golden. the 180 motor in the #316 gearbox is nice enough for most trailing and banging around in a lighter weight rig. little 130 motors usually 4.8 to 6v, with lower gearing its more likely to last running 7.4v so I'd consider that swap a "must do". if either motor socket cracks (more likely with the 180 motor going into the #316 gearbox) or the 130 motor is a loose fit into the B36 gearbox, a little rubber cement will keep it positioned nice but you'll still be able to pull+replace when you need to, CA is a little more difficult to deal with at that location.
@THYC4 жыл бұрын
That's a good idea, In an upcoming video you'll see what happens to the 130 in the 316 gearbox at 7.4v 😂🙈

@@THYC lol "oops", right? it give up the magic white ghost at the first real challenge? did it get stripped of its power and shamed so bad no amount of viagra can help it? did it do a poor rendition of Jim Morrison singing "Light My Fire"? of course spare loose 130 motors are common to have around for anyone messing with WPL type stuff so its not a really big deal, there's a 130 motor with neutral brush timing in all the bang-bang steering boxes too.
