Great planning video! I'm always fascinated to see other people's processes when figuring out their budget. Even comparing cost with others is very eye-opening. $176 for a car registration is insane. I gasped when I heard the amount. Here in S FL we pay about $45 per vehicle. That's why budgeting is a unique and personal process for everyone.

My coworkers is over $300 this year! She has a Mercedes it’s not even brand new but it all depends on the type of car you have and how old it is. When I first got my car my first registration cost more than my car payment, it was over $300😭 so for me $176 is the cheapest I’ve ever had 😅

My car is a 2021 Toyota Highlander and it’s $450, ca is crazy expensive

In NC we pay taxes and registration all at once. Your taxes are based on the value of the car so it goes down as your car gets older. We also have to have an inspection every year which is $30. I live close to the SC border and they don’t have the inspection requirements and there are thousands of people that come into the city of Charlotte to work with their stinky, broke down cars…it’s just a money maker. Getting down from my soapbox now! 🤐

I actually play that one for the month and then end it. Then the money goes towards my extra debt, which I already paid off but just paying myself for doing that so basically going back into savings, and then also put half it towards my emergency fund.
