I have plenty of experience running the gold subs and they are beast!!! They sound good and play low and musical........ there more on the SQL and can still get down in the spl setup.... it's all in the box tho.

Good quality bass sound reproduction even at a lower volume is hard to find. If I could afford 1, I would definitely invest. I also agree that if space is a premium then one good quality efficient sub is best in a car audio setup. It's ok to say that it's double the price but if you have 2spl subs you need to consider that you would also need to have more power available. Also it's kinda like comparing an expensive efficient hi-fi bass speaker to a pro audio setup. As a daily driver I think good clear bass beats loud poor quality bass with the additional cost of a higher powered amplifier. I guess that this would sound fantastic in a 6th order box 👍

The most affordable and best 220 dollar SQ sub would be Image Dynamics IDQ 10" or 12" ,,,,,,,The best 260 dollar SQ sub would be Alphard Audio Black Hydra HGS-2521 | 10" Subwoofer ...The best 400 dollar SQ sub would be FI Audio Q series.... you can custom build features of it also. thats the ones I have personally dealt with and know are crazy good quality!!!

You said it looks like ct sounds. Exactly what I thought when I seen em months back. Ct sounds been solid for me tho. Yo ultimax 8 update it didn’t work well with a 12 inch passive radiator. Bottomed out on 300 watts. Almost sounded good then bottomed out lol. Building a 4th order to hopefully give some control but hit the notes I want.

Well this design is somewhat an upgraded sundown sa. There is more magnet, 3 inch coil compared to the 2.5 in the sarev3 and 2.75 in the sa 2, double tinsel lead on each terminal,1 inch wider vents more cooling, spacing ring on motor keeping better performance and less distortion than the sa. The sub hits ultra low frequencies with ease also having less fs than any sundown model.. It will do a good job however I think the price is still slightly high

I have one of these in my 2018 Nissan Versa and I'm glad that I went with this choice of sub. I was looking to upgrade from an Image Dynamics IDQ 12 to their IDMAX 12 because I use to have one in a 2015 Toyota Avalon. I didn't want to spend $400 on a sub so I tried looking around at other subs that fell in the same class of specs that were under $300 and remembered a video that I saw last year doing a review on it so I referred back to that video to watch it again and was impressed with it's cosmetics (which it is quite the sexy sub I must say! 🤣) then I went to Amazon to see how much they were going for then it was game over after seeing it being sold for $289!! One of these in a 2.0 cu ft ported box sounds awesome 👍🏾👌🏾👍🏾👌🏾💪🏾💪🏾

I saw in that same review that I watched where they were saying you can throw 2kW at a Gold series and it will take it easily! If I was 15 years younger when I had my 2005 GMC Yukon I'd throw two Platinum or Gold series 15s in a huge ported box and tear up the block! Lol 😂

Im thinking about going with 2 12's of the RS "Entry Woofer" 12's.... 500 Watts RMS, 3 inch Voice Coil! with 17mm 1 way Xmax, 130 oz magnet.. for only $134?? After a solid 6 weeks of Researching dozens of subs (all budget or entry leve), I think this has to be the best Subwoofer for under $150 the SKAR SDR beats it on Price, but not in performance.. the RS ENtry is also cheaper than the Sundown E series, DC level 1 etc

I'd love to see you do a comparison of the American Bass XR series, I just installed today 2 XR15's still on my current Pioneer gm9701 and still stiff and not pushing them to hard they BUMP! I replaced a (damaged) NVX VCW15 and it bumped pretty good but 2 XR15's wow what a difference. I think I'm done with NVX, I loved the VCW but after 6 months it started making noise I thought I damaged the former I had bottomed it out pretty good once and the former had some slight waves in top but taking it apart it looks as if the bottom spider came loose. This is the 3rd NVX sub one VSW15 I overpowered so that's on me the 2nd VSW the triple joint failed within a week or so and now a VCW spider detachment. Looking at the glue joints theres a white glue is hard and brittle not a surprise it fails and the outer surround adhesive is pretty wimpy looking, it never failed but taking it apart I was easily able to remove it from the basket unharmed just zipped off...and looks like a skim layer of silicone no visible glue jus a shiny layer on the surfaces...I was going to do a $100 OEM recone if NVX ever recovers from covid19 and answers the phone but now prob not I'm either going the $150 PSI recone or buy components from Lord of Bass that be about $50 for dual spiders and 3" flat wound coil n reusing the original cone or $75/80 with a cone, prob get a mega roll cone just for asthetics, the stout flat wire coil should up the power handling little more than its original 1000wrms. Sorry for rambling just ampin on my new subs!

I got an ultimax 8. It looks beefy but that sucker is optimized for small boxes. I tried to push the limits and it bottomed out. The bigger sizes may be better but I would stay near the factory spec boxes honestly. Peerless sls 5.25 6th order 100 watts slaps decently for a tiny box. I co-sign tymphany and Dayton. You just gotta know how they wanna be used and not push the limits

well in this new bass age...now a days hard hittin bass not expensive as it was early 2000's... d.b's use charge arm in leg get picture knock off the wall but now chinese not hold of good brands and cheap flee market prices on really competition level .. i had american bass was the version rated at 500 watts on a ppi 650.1 and it also burnt up.. an di learnt always go under the rating..500 watt sub really mean 350.1 1000 watt sub my 650.1 fits perfectly...so know that much keep you from burning up subs. and sundown is pretty much the best far as d.b right with d.c audio reason i think it burnt up maybe use over the watt rating? how much watts you put on it. try 4 ohm bridge betta then 2 ohm if you doin factory and many say yes reslient sound as a side kick of ct sounds but no bad reviews yet so maybe 200$ well spent

Soundqubed hdx3 is a better sounding woofer for the money. This woofer cost too much for what it is.

The Gold 12 sounds better and lower and smoother than the hdx, these subs used to be cheaper but their price went up
