"Breaking All The House Rules" off Welsh Rock/Metal group Budgie's "Bandolier" album of 1975.
One of the most underrated albums and bands of all time...
Lyrics:
I've been running from a dark horse, I can't lose it
I've been calling to an old force, don't excuse it
Now I'm in the back and I'm all right
Got a mean kinda woman she's outta sight
Well I don't mind now sit me with the old fool
Out the back door, break the house rules
I go looking for my ego, don't explain it
Don't want never never leave girl, just sustain it
Well I've got a home and it's all right
With a mean kinda woman she's outta sight
Well I don't know about ripping up the old school
No no more breaking all the house rules
I got things I wanna do girl, don`t refuse me
I don't wanna be a bad boy, you don't rule me
Well you knowing me well that's all right
When a guy's gotta live and he's outta sight
I just wanna leave everything paid for
Feeling good that it's our thing girl
It's obscene
Well here we go,
I got things I wanna do girl, don`t refuse me
I don't wanna be a bad boy, you don't just rule me
Well I'm neat neat well that's alright
With a kind kinda woman she's outta sight
I just wanna beat everything you throw me
You don't think that that's obscene?
Yes it is.

I’ve listened to Budgie off and on for a long time now, but have just recently come to appreciate ALL of their 70s output, but what I don’t understand is, it seems like a lot of their KZbin fans tend to blow off their first album snd I think it’s one of their best, if not “THE Best!!!

@@potatortheomnipotentspud Well, they're ''famous'' because Metallica, Iron Maiden, Van Halen, Melvins, Megadeth and Soundgarden covered them, they played side-by-side with bands like Judas Priest and even have songs in Brutal Legend, however, they don't have much views in youtube, there's hardly anything in streaming services and it's hard to find a radio station that plays them; I myself can't find a t-shirt or CD anywhere I guess that explains what the op was :p

Curiously, very few people have spoken or shared this, in fact, none of my closest contacts and friends have seen them mention the subject. Not even the news for women on the Internet. Logical. It reminds me of when Neil Peart died and few have any idea who it was, and when Van Halen died the news spread so fast. Budgie, the most forgotten rock band ... When I heard this band at the age of 8 I fell in love with it completely, they already sounded very Heavy for the time, I love the fact that as well as many underground bands for various situations they kept low profile or are very undervalued making music, in My opinion, Budgie was on a par with Led Zeppelin and Rush, or at least they didn't ask for anything from such well-known bands. Budgie is one of those bands that blows your mind if you have a school and you value the fact that they influenced thousands of groups years later. Budgie is one of my all-time favorite bands, their music lives up to several well-known and overrated bands from the 70s. Burke Shelley, thank you, a true giant, because all that wave of great records and lyrics in my life are present, you are now in the Valhalla of Rock 'N' Roll. 🤘🏻

I wear my Budgie "In For The Kill!" shirt proudly, longtime fan of these guys from Cardiff, Wales. I'm from Portland Oregon. I've turned friends of mine onto Budgie just from either a song or my aforementioned shirt. Cheers.

Another one of my favourite bands that never quite made it to "super" stardom. But on the other hand, they stayed true to thier sound even with personnel changes, where so many bands got polished and less raw when success came thier way.

There's that heavy sound I was looking for. Damn tragedy this ain't on Spotify. I guess they don't appreciate obscure Welsh Prog Rock bands from the mid 70's.

I remember winning this album at a school fair back in 1978, I was 12 years old and did not know who Budgie was at the time. I took it home and started listening to it and started liking what I heard. I use to play along with the songs in the garage, I played drums at the time and was into other rock bands also. I believe I still have this album today.

First time I've heard this song. I was grinning like the Cheshire cat. Loved it. Going to listen to some more of them. I had an album on cassette many years ago, it wore out and I couldn't find that album anywhere to buy. Spewin' as it had songs I don't know the title to that I used to play loud.

I had a cassette that didn't have the name of the group, played it loved it for Years...a couple years ago I found out who they were and got to listen to all of their music, was ecstatic, side note on the other side was triumvirate's Spartacus. I've been on musical quests to find awesome music. Budgie was the best quest find.
