Birds have a small awareness scale, so it’s really easy for them to emotionally move past something as long as it doesn’t hit them too hard in the gut. And their all by spirit outroverts, so they’ll always socialize. Which makes it even easier for them to accidentally distract themselves.

Budgies are so adorable. They chirp and chitter non stop and they are so hyper. Cockatiels have wonderful personalities and are so sweet. So many people dismiss them as mere “starter birds” but they can be a handful and are just as awesome as the larger birds. I’ve owned both and adore them. Thank you very much for sharing this video with us.
@Broaster073 жыл бұрын
Cockatiel are "just right" birds for people when they discover how much room and work the larger parrots are. You need a cage at least the width of their wing span and seed throwing and other messes almost require a dedicated bird room for Cockatoos, Aftrican Greys and the South American Parrots. We kept three cockatiels on a long table in individual cages, their wings were trimmed, and they went and visited each other's cages and played on a common gym. They loved us but also had each other of for company.

Cockatiels are super hard to take care of. One shouldn't get one if they've not read some guides about it. Budgies on the other hand are much easier to keep and need less space. I love how they move with their little feet. Mine are so entertaining. I wake up in the morning and get entertained. Once they have bonded, it’s really something to see. My youngest Budgie fell out of his cage and hit the carpet. His wings had been clipped when I bought him. He started what is call “stargazing”, rolling his head in his neck, going in circles, flitting back and forth to the same spots. I didn’t know what to do as the closest vet was 20 miles and I had no car. I kept him with me, on my arm, chest, whenever I slept, hoping it would calm him. It did a bit. But suddenly, the older budgie, after watching for a day, flew down on the floor with him as he sat in front of the mirror, seeming to have all sorts of neurological problems. He started bobbing his head, walking around, talking to the little bird. Once in a while, he’d fly in a circle and come back. Eventually, He got him to fly on a low perch and they stayed close together like that from morning till the next day; no chipping, no sounds. It’s like he knew sounds would agitate the little budgie. The older bird didn’t even leave to eat or drink water. I left them like that all day again. Nearly two days of absolutely stillness, the younger budgie has gradually stabilized, is acting a lot more normal, head not rotating and he’s no longer walking in circles. It’s like the older one said “This is what we have to do and I’ going to stay with you till you’re better”. I cried watching them because the little fella really had my heart and it hurt to see him suffering. Now he’s hopping around, still sticking close to the older bird. Once in a while the older bird takes a flight around the room for exercise I guess, but then he’s right back near the little bird, helping him. It was the most wonderful thing I have ever seen.
